In this article I’ll spotlight some 17 U standouts I caught on Friday night.
EG10 had a balanced attack and looked very impressive on Friday afternoon. Mitchell was a standout due to his balanced offensive attack by making trail 3-pointers, corner jumpers, second chance points around the rim and touch shots in the paint. With his diverse scoring output, he was tough to stop on Friday.
Playing up an age group, Horvath shot the ball at a very efficient clip from the perimeter. Hitting shots off the catch from all over the floor, Horvath had his feet ready to fire at all times. With the impressive ball movement his team displayed, Horvath was the beneficiary of some easy layups due to his ball movement and the unselfish play from his teammates.
A very intriguing prospect, Harris has a lot of ability that he showed off on Friday evening. At his size, he moves well on the perimeter and can put it on the floor. Able to shoot it from the outside as well, Harris has an slashing-shooting combo that’s rare for a player his size. A guy regional scholarship programs should be all over, Harris is one of the higher upside prospects playing this weekend in the 17 U division the Grit Region Finals event.

Another impressive outing for Tino Yli-Junnila Tino Yli-Junnila 6’5″ | SF Lutheran West | 2024 State OH as he showcased his diverse scoring ability in a victory for MAC Basketball to advance to the sweet 16 of the tournament. An impressive shooter from the outside, when he gets his feet set it’s usually going in the net. What I really was impressed by was the offhand finishing he showed at the rim with a couple tough lefty finishes in traffic. Building good chemistry with future Lutheran West teammates Jayson Levis Jayson Levis 6’1″ | CG Lutheran West | 2024 State OH and Derek Fairley Derek Fairley 6’1″ | CG Lutheran West | 2024 State OH , Yli-Junnila continues to impress on the prep hoops circuit and should be a priority small college recruit.

An energizer bunny type guard, Meyers just brings a spark whenever he’s in the game from the guard position. Attacking at a million miles per hour whenever he’s on the court, Meyers is quick and shifty with the ball in his hands. Able to catch fire from the outside as well with his 3-point shooting ability, Meyers is a perfect fit for a high-pressure defensive system that both MAC Basketball and Medina High School use. When Meyers is able to slow the game down for himself and make better decisions with the basketball, he’s going to be a really solid small college prospect. With a 3.6 GPA and his offensive talent, small college high academic programs should be checking out Meyers for help at the guard spot. Was really impressed with his scoring efficiency on Friday night.
