Arius was lights out on Friday, going off for 32 points against New Mexico D1 and leading BDH to a big win. He’s a guy that has deep range, and when you add to that his length and handle, he can be a tough guy to stop when he’s feeling. He was doing a lot of damage from 3-point which started to open up the lanes for him to go inside and get to the rim. Look out for this team if Arius keeps going like this.
Jamarkus Robinson
Jamarkus Robinson
Robinson is a big, athletic, strong kid who immediately showed some natural defensive instincts on Friday. He exploded to block a shot at the rim, then tipped a pass thrown through his zone on the next possession, then he blocked a pass on the ball the possession after that. He also put together some nice moves on the other end, rolling to the rim hard and eating up space in a hurry.
Alex Birkans
Alex Birkans
Birkans is a bigger guard for his age group that was able to be physical with the ball and on the glass, while also showing some nice skill to thread passes and knock down jumpers from middy and 3-point. He had a great all-around game and looks like a high-level glue guy for his squad.
Stacy Johnson
Stacy Johnson
Johnson made this list because of one particular sequence that stood out among many yesterday. He was on defense and took a hard shot right to the face, putting him on the ground for a few seconds. Checking for blood, he got up and ran down to the defensive end. After getting the stop, he got the ball and took it up the court and set up the offense. You could tell he was hurting but, in that moment, he powered through and clutched up for his team.
