PHD watched back the Team Warwick vs. ND Phenom semifinal game from Friday. Below we will make comments on the players that stood out. This was a fun matchup with high-end talent on the floor for both teams.
We are big fans of basketball from both states, so this was a great game to watch with stars on display from NoDak & SoDak. PHD always love when we get a border battle matchup!

-High post catch, backdoor dime to cutting teammate early for a bucket
-Showed good footwork & positioning around the hoop
-Has multiple quality moves around the hoop, effective counter moves, and excellent patience
-Loved his hustle, 1-handed save & pass to a teammate for a 3
-Scored in transition, ran floor well
-Posted up, Stormo cut, Smith delivered a bounce pass dime
-Picked off BLOB pass with keen anticipation
Highlights
-Looked good slashing, got 2 feet in the paint, pivoted, created space, fadeaway score
-Good feet and crafty moves around the rim, I liked his head fake and step-through finish
-Pickpocket steal, read passers eyes and intercepted the pass
-Nice play with a hesitation move, jump-stop in paint, spin away from D, fall-away J, tough move!
-Awesome backdoor cut when Smith was posting up, resulted in a easy layup
-An aggressive rebounder
-Backdoor cut & score to get the first points of the game
-Picked off a pass like a DB in football
-He looks long, I wonder if he has grown a few inches this spring/summer?
-Impressive skills, 1-handed passes, has a plethora of moves and a killer crossover
-Late in game Warwick needs a bucket, Mulder weaves through traffic & scores with a floater, very tough shot with 2 defenders in his face, amazing concentration & touch
-Has a good handle, showed a very nice crossover move
-Great sequence when he caught, crossed, split the defense, and scored with a scoop shot
-Skilled combo-guard, threw 1-handed passes with both L & R hands
-Drove, drew help, completed a nice touch pass
-Battled for boards with the BIG boys
Highlights
-Many steals, tips, and deflections with his sneaky quick hands
-Great anticipation, lays in the weeds, quick, closes on ball in a hurry
-Scored multiple layups on breakaways & fastbreaks after turnovers
-Showed a nice inside-hand AND1 score after a shake-n-bake move
-Offensive rebound via extra-hustle, productive rebounder for a PG, has a nose for the ball
-Blocked a 3-point shot and pushed the tempo at times
-Threaded the needle in transition, precision passer
Highlights
-Showed impressive post moves, feet, physicality, scores with both hands
-Post up on block, attacked middle, spin back to baseline, lefty finish
-Post up iso, nifty move across the paint, right handed finger-roll
-VERY long, rangy, mobile
-Slash-n-score from left wing, agile in traffic, finished with a hand in his face
-Impressive hands, caught & scored in traffic, AND1 score, good looking FT shot
-Defensive rebound, led break going the other way, skilled BIG, passes out of post
-Nice score at the rim with left hand, used his body to protect the ball

-Has a long & low first step, many blow-by drives
-Early on, had a nice catch/jab/slash, and drive down the lane for a bucket
-Knocked down a catch-n-shoot 3-ball in 1st half, in-rhythm shot, has a perfect looking jumper
-Took CHARGE vs. BIG forward
-Did a great job late on defense, moved his feet, contested and altered a crucial shot late in crunch time
-Very late, slashed into paint, lots of contact in front of the rim, foul on the ground, one-and-one foul shots
-Nailed both FT’s down the stretch, talk about clutch!

-Moved his feet well on defesne, kept slashers in front
-He showed his versatility on defense, can take care of quick guards and forwards
-Posted up, did not have any luck, kicked ball out to a teammate for a wide open 3-pointer
-His long arms contested & altered shots
-Deflected a pass, broke up an alley-oop lob
-2.1 seconds remaining in the game, 1-and-1 FTs, hit both shots to put the game on ice!
-Started the Phenom scoring with a catch-n-shoot triple
-Picked off a pass in the post, had good positioning & awareness
-Had solid box-outs, held his man back until he got the rebound
-Great in the PNR, rolled with a high hand, AND1 bucket
-Another PNR score, set the pick top of key, rolled through the D, caught and scored in traffic
-Had great helpside defense, discouraged & deterred many slashers
-Phenom is up 1 with 3.3 seconds left in game, Warwick has to go length of the court to score
-Walz is guarding the in-bounder, he deflects the pass with his arm, the ball bounces back and hits the Warwick player, Phenom ball, HUGE turnover!

-He worked hard on the glass and got after the boards
-Played physically, had good outlet passes after securing the rebound
-Unselfish, shares the ball and does not force shots
-Showed extra effort with an O-rebound tip, led to an extra possession for Phenom

-Deflected passes and showed hustle by saving a ball from out of bounds
-Looked good slashing to his left, covers a ton of ground in a short amount of time
-Had a cross-face cut to the hoop, caught and scored, did not waste a dribble
-Slash-n-score, went across the rim, took a hit and still scored the AND1 bucket
-Stole a pass on a backdoor attempt from Team Warwick
-Late in the game, huge O-rebound, came out of nowhere, scored with the putback, clutch basket
-Crucial slash late, beat the close out with a left-handed drive
-There was good D at the rim, he took the foul in mid-air but still scored, AND1!
-That AND1 helped give Phenom the lead towards the end of the game
-Big and strong PG, runs the show, controls the tempo
-Unselfish, he finds the shooters, feeds the posts, and dishes to the cutters
-Showed off his IQ when trapped near half-court, threw the ball off the defenders leg instead of turning the ball over
-Looked great in the pick-n-roll in the second half with Walz
-Hit Ramsey multiple times when rolling to the rim after PNR, delivered bullets & beautiful touch passes
-Had a crucial over-the-top offensive rebound in the 2nd half to give Phenom an extra possession
-Another O-board, this time he scored with a lefty putback, huge bucket
Highlights
-Early on, had nice middle penetration, showed good vision, found a shooter spotting up in the corner for 3
-Money from left corner, catch-n-shoot 3-ball, no problem hitting the shot with a hand in the face
-Showed his court awareness with quality cuts to the basket
-He and Walz had a timely blocked shot late in the game
-Had a key O-rebound with under 2-mins in the game, Phenom scored on that possession to take the lead
-I like his skill set and feel for the game
-Athletic combo-guard
-Played well defensively on the 4-0 Championship Tournament
