He’s small in stature but makes up for it with his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter and make things happen in the backcourt. He’ll be a face to keep an eye on at New Bern High this fall given his ability to make his presence felt with his range and confidence shooting the basketball. As he develops, he’s one to track given his feel for the game at the shooting guard spot.

Tyreek Copper Tyreek Copper 5’10” | SG Kinston | 2026 State NC is another sharpshooting face to know in North Carolina’s 2026 class following a productive grassroots season with Team Premier. He played alongside top name Keyshawn Herring Keyshawn Herring 6’2″ | CG Kinston | 2027 State NC (Kinston High) as the secondary face in the rotation for much of the summer. He should come in handy in the Kinston High backcourt off the bench in 2023-24 after he sat with an injury for much of his freshman season. He’s a confident guard that can score the ball on all levels and is coming along as quite the defender.
JB Shabazz JB Shabazz 6’7″ | PF East Forsyth | 2026 State NC is a sizeable name to get to know out of Oak Grove High given his prowess as a passer and finisher in the paint. He’s a 6-foot-6 prospect that plays a lot bigger than his listed height given his ability to take up space and handle the basketball in the post and on the perimeter. He’s got a chance to develop into quite a prospect on the hardwood and is already a known prospect on the football field.
Highlights
Taylor Blakney Taylor Blakney 6’5″ | SF Lee Park Prep | 2026 State NC is a forward prospect to get to know given his prowess on the hardwood in the 2026 class as a new addition. He produced 22.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2.0 spg and 1.1 bpg while shooting 48 percent from the field. He’s a confident driver, operator inside the perimeter and finisher around the rim and as he develops his perimeter game, he’s got quite the upside as a prospect to keep an eye on, given his versatility.
Aaron Holmes Aaron Holmes 5’9″ | PG Lexington Senior | 2026 State NC is another 2026 name out of Lexington Senior High to get to know in North Carolina’s 2026 class. He’s a floor general that knows how to push the pace and find his guys in spots for success. Defensively, he’s applying pressure fullcourt and looking to force turnovers so he can start the break for his squad. He’s a young point guard name to start tracking given his IQ on the floor.

He’ll be one of a few names to keep track of in the Greenfield School rotation given his potential on the wing. He got good experience as a freshman knocking down 3-pointers and making his presence felt as a rebounder on both ends of the floor. He’s a prospect that looks to constantly move without the ball to find openings to make an impact.
