Darrion Ellis Darrion Ellis 6’5″ | SF Word of God | 2026 State NC is a 2026 name that will look to make a name for himself with Word of God Academy on the OTE scene as a recent mover into the class. He’s development tremendously as a presence around the rim on both ends that plays with a ton of energy. He utilizes his length well at 6-foot-6 to make an impact on both ends of the floor and has solid potential as a mover in the sophomore class.
Aidan Rousseau Aidan Rousseau 6’6″ | SF Cary Academy | 2026 State NC is a prospect that’s had a solid spring/summer of development on the grassroots scene with Wake County Basketball Academy. He’s a prospect that’s shown he can operate in a variety of ways already in the halfcourt and has emerged as one of a few names to get to know this season at Cary Academy. He’s certainly a young name to start tracking early.
Andre Gyabaah Andre Gyabaah 6’6″ | PF Lexington Senior | 2026 State NC is another prospect to get to know given his size and frame at 6-foot-5. He made his mark with PH at the Triad First48 County Clash where he shined as an inside-out threat that was unselfish with the ball in his hands. He’s a young name that’s not afraid to mix things up and make things easy for others by finding them for easy scores. He’s a young name to track at Lexington Senior High.

William Stevens William Stevens 6’10” | C Davidson Day | 2026 State NC has been quite the name to keep track of this grassroots cycle with the Carolina Riptide Basketball program. He’s yet another young name set to make waves with college programs once they get eyes on him given his ability to use his 6-foot-7 length to his advantage as a shot-blocker, rebounder and scorer. He plays with a ton of energy on both sides of the ball as a 4-5 man that’s starting to find his stride from deep. He’ll be a new name at Davidson Day School to track very soon.
Jim Gatehouse Jim Gatehouse 6’3″ | CG South Mecklenburg | 2026 State NC is a prospect at South Mecklenburg that’s shown signs he’s ready to tuhe corner this grassroots season with Team Griggs. He’s confident handling the ball on the break and doesn’t hesitate to maneuver in traffic and get to the paint, where good things tend to happen. He’ll certainly look to fill a void for a varsity squad that will field a much younger group than it did in 2022-23.

Caden Ryker Caden Ryker 6’0″ | PG The North Carolina Leadership Academy | 2026 State NC is another new face in the Top 100 at The North Carolina Leadership Academy (NCLA) on the high school scene. He’s a workhorse type of guard that does the little things necessary to run the point guard spot. He was a featured name in the NC Spartans grassroots program, another Independent in the state located in the 336 area. He posted 18.7 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 3.2 spg, 2.5 apg and 1.1 bpg as a do-it-all floor general that isn’t afraid to compete on both ends of the floor.
