Continue ReadingThe 2024 class is starting to wind down their KHSAA basketball careers. AAU is over for most of the rising Seniors and will be over for all of them by the end of the month. Several stars have started to commit and more will be coming soon. Let’s take a look at the top 10 stretch forwards in the class in the latest rankings update. This does not include the top 10 players in the class as they have been highlighted in another article.
Johnny is one of the bigger sleepers in the class in Kentucky in my opinion. That’s probably because he’s played well every time I’ve seen him and never seen him play poorly so I likely have at least a little bit of a bad evaluation on him. Nevertheless, I watched Djema hit 6 threes in a game in February. In addition to his rim running and shot blocking, Johnny is an overlooked player in my opinion.
Brady turned heads in Atlanta early this month with a strong showing in the UA finals and has himself in line for more offers as he approaches his Senior season. Shoulders is a Swiss Army knife type of player who does a lot of things to impact winning and will end up at the scholarship level in college thanks to all the things he does for his team.
I feel like I’ve written about Brax once a week for the last month but he’s deserving of the positive words and praise thanks to how well he has played this summer. At 6’9, Ward is capable of scoring around the block but also can knock down multiple threes a game as a catch and shoot forward.
Taylor County has a ton of depth and Clements can be overlooked at times but he’s one of the most impactful players on the Cardinals roster. Clements will ultimately be a wing at the college level but he has shown the ability to face up against post players and either knock down shots or drive around bigger defenders.
Reesor has the size and skill level to be a prototypical stretch 4 in college and could be a sleeper candidate for top player in the 11th region this season. Ian has shown he can put the ball on the floor and be a playmaker at times but he’s also a very reliable shooter from distance whose best basketball is ahead of him.
