The incoming freshmen class yes of 2027 had some players make some headway this past weekend. Who are some of these young men?
John Cleveland John Cleveland 6'0" | CG Berkeley | 2027 State SC got off to a fast start today with his play for the Berkeley HS Stags. Cleveland played several minutes as an 8th grader last year for the Class 5A Stags. The athletic guard handles himself very well and plays well beyond his years already. Cleveland excels in the transition game and shows to have some good bounce with that game. John finished and scored the ball from all 3 levels here today.
J’sean Sanders J’sean Sanders 6'7" | PF High Point Academy | 2027 State SC played a lot at the varsity level last season for the Spartanburg HS Vikings. Sanders a long and athletic forward was gliding over the floor and finishing around the cup here today. J’sean already shows to have a good upside and presence around the cup.
RJ Davis RJ Davis 6'5" | PF Clear Dot Charter | 2028 SC shows to have good versatility where at times today he was handling the rock up the floor. RJ plays down in the post for the Union County HS Yellow Jackets. He was able to run the floor and fill the lane in transition quite well. Davis rebounded the ball outside of his area while contesting plenty of shots on the defensive end of the floor.
RJ Stack RJ Stack 6'5" | PF Easley | 2027 State SC and the Easley HS Green Wave didn’t play its first game until late on Saturday night. Stack was great around the paint altering and challenging shots at will. RJ plays his game in the paint and tends to stay while providing production. He plays very active and aggressive at all times. Stack was constantly banging and carving out space down low.
does a really good job of sealing and boxing out. RJ understands positioning and rebounding the outside of his area.
Khristian Bruce Khristian Bruce 5'8" | PG Wilson | 2026 State SC looks to be the point guard this season for the Wilson HS Tigers. Bruce first came on the scene a few years back with then with South Florence HS. Khristian keeps the ball close to his vest and can turn the corner quickly while racing to the basket. He packs a punch in the scoring column when needed for the Tigers. Bruce surely doesn’t let his size get into the way with his play on the court.
Sequel Patterson Sequel Patterson 5'11" | PG Indian Land | 2027 State SC and Colt Fowler Colt Fowler 5'6" | PG Byrnes | 2027 State SC both played several minutes here today for their respective teams. Patterson raced to the rack while finishing at the cup when he wasn’t hitting mid-range jumpers along the way. Sequel will be the Quarterback this coming fall for the Indian Land HS Warriors.
Fowler plays very mature already for his age. He was able to set the tone at times for the Rebels with his ability to be a pass first point guard. Colt was able to connect on some open jumpers while always playing under control.
This is just some members of the 2027 Palmetto State Class moving forward. Stay tune to coverage to the site all week long for #SCLive coverage and much more right here on Prep Hoops.
