Sequel may be headed off to Columbia to play football for Head Coach Shane Beamer, but don’t get it twisted, he had a monster senior season on the hardwood and certainly could’ve played basketball at the next level if he wanted to. Some of the most impressive performances that I saw live this season came from Patterson, as he went on to average 18.5 points a game on 44% 3FG.
Patterson was huge down the stretch to help Indian Land pick up an impressive win over Seneca in Greenville. He hit a clutch left-wing three, earned a couple of trips to the free-throw line, and then pounded home a big-time dunk to seal the result. Sequel has improved as a jump shooter who is very comfortable pulling up in the mid-range and from three, but there are still isn’t many better when attacking the rim than him. His athleticism and lack of fear are what make him such a good finisher, so when he’s hitting shots to go with the downhill driving ability, it makes the Warriors a hard team to stop.

is a Power 4 football prospect who also gets it done on the hardwood for Indian Land in 5A Region 3. He had a very productive Freshman Season averaging 13.3 Points Per Game, 4.9 Rebounds Per Game, 1.9 Assists Per Game, and 1.7 Steals Per Game for the Warriors while having multiple standout performances for 3SSB’s Team Loaded VA too. Sequel can play either position in the backcourt and is a tough on-ball defender, athletic on the glass, quick in the open floor, and capable of creative scoring chances off the bounce. Patterson’s notable football offers include Arkansas, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
15p 2r 1a vs New World, 6p 4a 2r 1b 1s vs Tenn. Impact
-Dynamic slashing PG had a great week as the engine for a Loaded VA 15u group that made a championship game appearance at 3SSB. Patterson used his athleticism and aggression to knife through opposing defenses to make plays for his team, showing improved body control on pull-ups at the elbow and floaters in the lane. His vocal leadership and intensity rubbed off on his teammates throughout the week, pushing his teammates to compete at full capacity on both ends of the floor while playing a ton of minutes himself. It’s rare that you find a guard his size hitting perimeter shots and running the show in transition while also finishing plays as a lob threat above the rim himself.
Patterson excels on the hardwood and on the football field for the Warriors. He currently has received plenty of interest from the likes of Power 5 schools for football. Sequel keeps the ball on a string and races by defenders at times with a nice crossover move. He’s extremely quick in the open court from side to side with the ball in his hands.
Sequel can create his own shot and for others with his savvy passing skills. He certainly plays the game with a good deal of confidence on the floor.
Patterson is one of two 2027 Prospects who impressed on out-of-state programs on Saturday. Sequel runs with Team Loaded VA and has an important role. He shares the primary ball-handling duties and does a good job of balancing when to create and when to score. Against D1 Minnesota, he started strong on the offensive glass, earning extra opportunities for his offense. He flashed with a nasty crossover into an And-1 midway through the first half. Alongside his playmaking, Sequel brings good defensive pressure and speed in the open floor. He put up 11 Points, 5 Assists, 5 Rebounds, and 2 Steals in an afternoon win.

is one of the most intriguing young athletes in the state of South Carolina. This year, Patterson was named All-Region in both football and basketball joining a rare list of players to do that in their Freshman Season. On the hardwood, he has great quickness and bounce that contributes to winning on both ends of the floor. Sequel averaged 13.5 Points Per Game, showing a consistent offensive game in Year One. Patterson is in the Top 10 of our inaugural Prep Hoops SC 2027 Rankings, and will play for 3SSB’s Team Loaded VA this spring.
Patterson is a 3-sport athlete for the Warriors. In the fall Patterson already has picked up on offers on the gridiron as Quarterback – Defensive Back. Sequel averaged last season 13.3 ppg and 4.9 rebounds for the Warriors (19-8). The combo guard plays the game very mature already for his age.
