Julen Iturbe Julen Iturbe 6'8" | PF Riverside | 2024 State #234 Nation SC – Riverside High School
Fresh off a great Spring with Team Curry, Julen returned to the floor in a Riverside Warrior Jersey today. He excels most with the ball in his hands from the free-throw line out, where he can show off his good handle and great feet. Julen causes defenses a lot of harm in transition as well. He has a terrific outlet pass, and can dominate cross-matches when he gets the defensive rebound and pushes. Lehigh, Boston, Pennsylvania, and American all offered Julen in the month of May.
Kayzzin McDowell Kayzzin McDowell 6'2" | SG Byrnes | 2024 State SC – Byrnes High School
Kayzzin is one of the Premier Scoring Guards in the State of South Carolina. He has range that extends well beyond the High School Three-Point Line & a high release with his 6’2″ frame, but can also get his teammates involved in a multitude of ways. Kayzzin also has very active hands on defense, and will be among the State Leaders in steals again this season.
Bracyn Burns Bracyn Burns 6'2" | SG Dorman | 2024 State SC – Dorman High School
This might be a name that is new to many in the SC Basketball Community, but it’s one that will be extremely important come the official start of the High School Season. Bracyn brought terrific energy off the bench today for the Cavaliers. He will punish defenders that over help towards his teammates, knocking down several catch-and-shoot 3’s. He is also a terrific teammate. Dorman had more players than chairs on the bench, and Bracyn would stand up so that his teammates could sit. Even if he had just come off the floor. This is definitely a name to keep an eye on for the rest of the month.
Christian Andrews Christian Andrews 5'11" | PG Dorman | 2024 State SC (Dorman High School) – In a program that seems to have Guards that grow on trees, Andrews is next in line to be the Top Dog for the Cavaliers this season. He made a few jaw-dropping passes today, finding teammates that didn’t even know they were open. Christian is also more than capable of getting his own bucket, and he’ll probably let you know about it afterwards. In a game that didn’t have the feel of a Summer Ball Game vs Greer, Christian did not shy away from making a big shot on offense or making a big stop of defense. That is something that will be on display when Dorman inevitably makes a deep playoff run this season.
Braden Hershberger Braden Hershberger 6'3" | CG Mauldin | 2024 State SC (Mauldin High School) – The Mid-Range Maestro returns to Mauldin for his Senior Year. Braden is one of the top returning scorers in the state, and will be in that same conversation again this season. Hershberger is patient at getting to the elbow off the dribble, can finish at the rim through contact, and is a great cutter. He can play as both a Primary and Secondary Ball-Handler, which will important in the Mavericks’ Offense this season.
Owen Stewart Owen Stewart 6'5" | SG Mauldin | 2024 State SC (Mauldin High School) – Another breakout name that is due to play an important role for his High School in his Senior Season. Owen played on a very talented Upward Stars Upstate Harvey team during the AAU Season, and impressed early today in a Mauldin Jersey. His ability to keep possessions alive on the glass and shoot the ball efficiently is of need in the Maverick Offense, so keep an eye on Stewart as we inch closer to the start of the season.
