Kayzzin McDowell Kayzzin McDowell 6'2" | SG Byrnes | 2024 State SC had a terrific Grassroots Season, making him one of the biggest stock risers in the 2024 Class and one of Andrew Baxley’s SC Summer Standouts. McDowell has developed into one of the best shooters in 5A. He can score off the catch and off the dribble with deep range. Kayzzin received his first College Offer early this summer, but if he can bring similar production to the High School Game as he did the AAU Game that number is going to jump.

Kayzzin was one of the biggest Stock Risers in the most recent Prep Hoops SC Rankings. He had a terrific Summer playing with Upward Stars Upstate Harvey and Byrnes High School. McDowell is a premier shooter and has near-limitless range. During the Grassroots Season, it felt like Kayzzin would have a 5 Made Three Game twice a weekend to help boost Upward Harvey to one of the better Seasons in the State. McDowell received his First Collegiate Offer from West Virginia Tech on July 23rd.

McDowell has been HOT since January it seems with his play. He can really fill it up from deep range behind the 3-point line. Kayzzin at times this summer was able to dial up consecutive moments in a game where he had hit for 4-5 in a row down the floor. He ran this past Grassroots Season with Upward Stars SE Upstate Harvey.

Can the Rebels make a push in the Class 5A ranks in the Upstate this coming season?

McDowell is another standout from this Upward Group that has been terrific for the entirety of the AAU Season. Kayzzin’s range is near limitless, just like his confidence. He hit 5 3s in Upward Stars Upstate Harvey’s loss to Team CP3 E16 on Saturday Afternoon. On the defensive end, Kayzzin works hard to clean up the glass and has quick hands to strip ball handlers which both translate to the high pace that he likes to play at in transition. Be on the lookout for McDowell in Prep Hoops SC’s Updated 2024 Rankings which come out later this month, as he is a likely stock riser.

McDowell a combo guard for the Rebels had to pick up the slack for teammate Will Fowler Will Fowler 6'1" | PG Byrnes | 2024 State SC being out of the mix. Kayzzin has really stepped up to the plate with his play this season. He will use the ball screen to advance to the basket for the easy bucket. McDowell can really score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor for the Rebels.

He’s averaging 12.2 ppg and 5.3 rebounds for the Rebels (17-8).
