Isaac Asuma Isaac Asuma 6'3" | PG Cherry | 2024 State #102 Nation MN of Cherry (6’3 PG). It’s not a coincidence that team one had the best ball movement and took the highest percentage and most comfortable shots all weekend. Isaac set the tone the first game by taking only two shots as he constantly fed others open looks with comfort. Asuma had seven assists that first game and created about a dozen shots off his direct feed, and lord knows how many hockey assists he was a part of because this team was sending the ball all over the court with ball movement. In games two, three and four, Asuma took open looks when they were there and he hit a very high percentage of threes for the weekend including five for five at the arc in the finale.
Matt Drake Matt Drake 5'11" | PG Lakeville North | 2024 State MN of Lakeville North (5’11 PG). Drake is Mr. Consistent. The steadiest of the steady. There might be guys that are bigger, guys that are faster, guys that are more explosive, and guys that score with higher percentages and numbers, but a lot of those Minnesota ball handlers are not as consistent game to game as Matt Drake Matt Drake 5'11" | PG Lakeville North | 2024 State MN . Matt just stays on top of his guy at all times with a relentless attack at the opportune moments. One of my favorite players to watch because you know what you are going to get.
Kyle Jorgensen Kyle Jorgensen 6'9" | C Minneapolis Washburn | 2024 State #308 Nation MN of Minneapolis Washburn (6’9 Big). Kyle’s low post game is outstanding. His hands, footwork, touch and feel rank with the best I have seen all spring/summer anyplace. Outstanding passer as well at the top of the key, in the high post, or with back to the basket. Good shooting numbers all weekend, Jorgensen played like a guy that has been getting D1 offers, and will be getting more.
Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN of Wazyata (6’10 PF). Jackson played every bit like a guy that had double figure high majors in to watch him, he played every bit like a top 50 national level player, and he played every bit like a 6’10 stretch forward that continues to grow and has the range to have a big time future. Past college. Jackson combined range, high percentage shooting, and skill with the dribble versus size to put up huge numbers in an all star setting.
Chiang Ring Chiang Ring 6'8" | C Park Center | 2024 State #276 Nation MN of Park Center (6’8 Big). Chiang was solid on Friday, excellent on Saturday. The dunks and shot contesting/blocking were there and then he finished his weekend by making his last seven shots of the event including four threes. Ring is not what I would label as a stretch big yet, but you can tell he is working on that perimeter jumper and it’s getting better day by day.
John Troolin John Troolin 6'3" | SG Cambridge | 2024 State MN of Cambridge-Istanti (6’2). John is a shooter and he changes the way teams defend with his jumper. Teams have to find him quick in transition, they have to close out hard to him, and after he hits one, they cannot help where they want to. Both games I saw John play he set the tone with his three and his teammates benefited with space the rest of the contest when he was on the floor.
