Jackson had high major coaches from across the country in to watch him, and he was producing with his ability to shoot from range and handle the ball at 6’9. He has such a tight handle at his size allowing him to beat opposing forwards off the dribble going at the rim, and also take defensive rebounds and bring it up the floor himself. When he catches with even a few inches of space beyond the arc, his release is so quick that he can get shots off before his defender can even react. Still did a nice job of keeping the ball moving and helping to lead his team to a pair of wins in the games I watched.

Jalen got off to a slow start, but capped his weekend off with a bang. I watched the first half of his final game on Saturday, and he was dominant finishing with 20 points on field goals alone in the first half (also earned a few trips to the FT line). At 6’7 he was playing even bigger than his size as he was just bullying defenders into deep position around the basket. Does a great job of getting guys in the air with a shot fake before going up for an easy finish. Stretched the floor from three and got his opportunities at the rim from offensive boards, post ups, and off the dribble from the wing.

Kuhl is an intriguing prospect in South Dakota’s 2024 class. Tons of length and moves well at his size. Was able to step away from the basket and knock down some jumpers, showing excellent touch on his shot. Even if he wasn’t always getting touches, he worked hard running rim to rim showing solid mobility in the process. Utilizes length to contest shots around the basket.
Brady followed up a big weekend at the Breakdown Summer State event with some more strong showings. Just continues to flash high potential as he does things you don’t often see players do at 6’8. Is able to put the ball on the floor and pull-up from mid-range off one or two dribbles quicker than most defenders can react. Gets excellent elevation for his size on his pull-up jumper, making it nearly impossible to contest. Showed he’s not afraid to handle the ball coast-to-coast, keeping his eyes scanning the floor for the chance to hit a teammate cutting to the rim. Threw down a pair of dunks in the games I watched.

Chiang continues to show improvements in his perimeter game. He’s always been a dominant shot blocker, and is quick off the floor to throw down dunks or finish off the catch around the rim. This past weekend though he was also a threat from beyond the arc. Did a nice job of not forcing his outside game, but when defenders gave him too much space he was able to make them pay. Had a big second half on Saturday morning in a tight game against Team 9, putting his team on his back to nearly pull off a comeback.
Nothing flashy about Noah’s game, he simply goes out and produces in the paint. He’s a tough defender with his height and strong frame that makes him hard to move on the block. Does a good job of not letting his man establish deep position, and if his man catches the ball he’s going to hold his ground. Good rebounder who uses his body to clear out space before attacking the ball with two hands out of the air. Makes the most off his chances offensively as he’s an efficient finisher who has no problem playing through some contact.
I usually try to go through my film before writing these articles, and I’m glad I did because on second viewing Tray was even more productive than I originally noticed. It seemed like he was constantly the first forward getting up the floor, picking up some easy transition buckets with his hustle alone. At 6’6 he was a big time floor stretcher who forced taller bigs to chase him on the perimeter. Was finding ways to get into pockets of space and shot the ball really well from deep in the games I saw. The Chaska forward provided consistent production throughout the event.
