The tournament was filled with talent and has great games all weekend. In this article, I will be talking about some underclassman who produced.
Zack Watt – 2026 – Squalicum HS
Zack has great size, standing at roughly 6’2″. He can play multiple spots on the floor and does so very well. He plays from the high post nicely and has great vision as he can find his open teammates from there. Over the past weekend, Zack spent quite a bit of time being the primary ball handler and I think he did a fantastic job doing so. Be on the watch for Watt as the years go by.
Dyson Edwards Dyson Edwards 5'10" | PG Lummi | 2027 State WA – 2027 – Lummi Nation
Dyson spent time last year on the varsity squad and he was only an 8th grader, which is very impressive. He can shoot the ball very, very well from deep and having a guard like Jerome Toby Jerome Toby 5'7" | PG Lummi Nation | 2026 State WA leading the way and collapsing the defense. Edwards holds his own on the defensive side during Lummi’s zone defense, causing a lot of deflections.
Mantaj Singh – 2026 – Ferndale HS
Mantaj is a player I hadn’t watched play live before last weekend. I was very impressed at his ability to shoot the deep shot and drive to the basket. He has a quick release, being able to shoot the ball before defenders are able to closeout. He did play a little timid at times, as I felt he could’ve been more aggressive with the ball. With more experience at the varsity level, he will start to become more comfortable on the court.
Madden Whitlock – 2026 – Burlington-Edison HS
Madden is a player who was relied on quite a bit for the Tigers. He has an insanely high IQ, being able to know what defenses are running so he can set up his offense. He was hesitant to shoot the ball over the weekend, but I think he is finding his groove as one of the team leaders. He can shoot the ball very well and attack efficiently with either hand. He is going to grow a lot during this season as a player on the court.
