2025 Top Bigs (seen at Westland High School)
Braden McCruter Braden McCruter 6'8" | C Big Walnut | 2025 OH | 6’5” | NOVA Village 2025 Bruny
McCruter has the perfect frame to be a “positionless” forward. Standing at a lean 6’5’”, McCruter can be productive anywhere on the court. Defensively, he can deter guards from driving the paint and he can move out of his area to block shots. Offensively, he can pop out the perimeter to knock down the deep 3-pointer, and he can crash the offensive glass for put-back lay-ups. He has a great looking jump shot that will only get better as he sees the shots start to fall more consistently.
Spencer Scott | 6’6″ | Top 1 2025 | Delasalle (Michigan)
Scott was a force inside all weekend. He seemed to never stop moving and found fortune being around the ball. He displayed great awareness when rim-running and sealing for position. He found a few easy baskets by beating his opponent on offensive rebounds; even on the free-throw line. He has strong hands and establishes good scoring position when he has the ball. He likes to drop-step and shoot over his left shoulder or quick spin and get to the baby hook over his right shoulder.
Dominic Theado | 6’5” | Ohio United- McClure 2025 | Bishop Watterson (Ohio)
Theado is a skilled, physical forward that can do a little bit of everything. He was very impressive in the half court with his interior presence and bounce off the floor. Theado has a ton of upside to develop into a dominant stretch forward. Playing on an extremely well-balanced and talented group, Theado was one of the primary scoring threats every trip down. He showcased his versatility by playing both on and off the ball. He can initiate the offense with the ball in his hands and he can distribute. A true playmaker with size and a high basketball IQ that will absolutely translate to the next level.
Darion Johnson | 6’5” | Team Takeoff 2025 | Dunbar
Johnson was one of the most dominant players of the weekend. From the low post area, he carves out space using his physicality to ward off wimpy opponents. He has great touch around the rim and gets to the free-throw line often. On defense, he puts himself in position to contest shots by not fouling and grabbing loose rebounds.
Weymouth Sanders | 6’6” | Midwest Basketball Club Central 2025 Young | Bishop Ready (Ohio)
Sanders gives lots of effort and hustle on both sides of the ball. He has a contagious motor that keeps his opponent accountable for 94′. Sanders’ fundamental approach helps balance out the team. He runs the floor well, sets solid screens, works hard at low post positioning, and tracks down rebounds all over the paint.
Weston Gregg Weston Gregg 6'2" | SF Upper Arlington | 2025 OH | 6’2” | NOVA Village 2025 Harrington / Twinam | Upper Arlington (Ohio)
The NOVA VIllage- Harrington squad is deserving of all the praise from the weekend. Gregg is another player that shined in his role. Although he didn’t dominate the full games, he does everything you’d want from the low post spot on the court. A few of the skills we witnessed…We watched him snatch rebounds out of his area, make on-time and on-target passes out of the post, and finish around the rim when he has his opportunities.
