June 8th-10th I attended the 16th annual Best in Basketball Summer Invitational at Mesquite HS in Gilbert, AZ. There were 24 teams playing in five showcase type of games over the three days.

Here is the All-Tournament Fifth Team:

[player_tooltip player_id='1633035' first='Jayden' last='Blasczyk'] Bradshaw Mountain

A taller post player is quickly becoming one of the top shot blockers in the class. He alters and challenges every player to come near the basket. In one possession he had three blocks in a row showing how dominant he can be. He gobbles up rebounds and will score on dunks and put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1306027' first='Drayce' last='Crenshaw'] Cesar Chavez

A long wing forward is a newcomer for me. He is an athletic player who can hit the catch three, he is a good passer, he will rebound and push the ball up the court. Defensively he plays the passing lanes for steals which leads to layups quickly on the other end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1985829' first='Mauricio' last='Holguin'] Bradshaw Mountain

A combo guard who scores it a variety of ways. He has the floater game and can shoot it with catch threes, he changes speeds well to create a little separation and often cuts for score. He rebounds well in his area, he is a smart passer and sets strong picks to free his teammates up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490238' first='JD' last='Jones'] Phoenix Country Day

A long wing forward is still very young. The son of James Jones shows you flashes of brilliance. He can drive with long strides to the basket and kick it to a teammate like a point forward and will hit the catch three in rhythm. He rebounds, blocks shots and plays the game with an unselfish nature.

[player_tooltip player_id='1124552' first='Jveonte' last='Kidd'] Gilbert

A quick point guard who can shoot the catch three and score on runners or floaters. He has a very quick first step to get to the basket and is a really good passer. He is more of a rhythm shooter on his threes but he will definitely knock them down.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986833' first='Noah' last='McKinney'] Pusch Ridge (Pictured)

A face-up wing forward who can shot fake and get to the rim. He plays with a super high IQ for an incoming freshman who can make plays. He handles it well for a forward, he plays with a great motor to get on the glass, he will score on put backs plus hit the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482164' first='Desean' last='Middlebrook'] Mesquite

A versatile wing forward is fluid, tough and can handle it and score in heavy traffic. His energy on defense is contagious. He will fight inside versus a taller player then cover a guard on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1548525' first='Caron' last='Perez'] Chandler

A combo guard has beautiful form on his jumper and lets it go quickly from the three point line. He changes speeds really well with a tighter handle to gain the proper separation to get his shot off. He has strong hands to rip his opponents and plays with huge confidence. His step back off the dribble is his toughest move to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986834' first='Danta' last='Stallworth'] Cesar Chavez

A two-way point guard is a defensive stud. He can suffocate his opponents with his quick feet and hands. He can rattle in threes off the catch and also can step back and shoot it from mid to the three. He sees the court well and plays with a motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986835' first='Jenuwine' last='Taylor'] Cesar Chavez

A long wing forward is a glue guy defender for the Champions. He runs the court and he will literally defend every position. He is best scoring the ball in transition and hustles for loose balls, scores on put backs and likes playing fast.
