We covered the teams we hadn’t seen this spring. Here’s some of our rising NorCal’s 2025 prospects who got our attention with their play on the court.
It was our first look at the long wiry prospect this spring. He has a versatile skill set that allows him to be effective in different areas on the court. He ran the point with good handling and penetration, he found ways to score on the wings and in transition. He uses his length to score in the paint. His length allows him to guard multiple positions.
He’s been playing consistent this spring. Standing 6’5 at the 16u level he’s productive around the basket, getting his points and rebounds. He’s more of a wing type player who gets things done in the open court, and transition. He can get his own shot, make good passes, and runs the court to finish in transition. He can defend the post at 16u, and has the foot speed to guard on the perimeter.
Antoine plays with a chip on his shoulder and he’s ready to go. He gives maximum effort on the court. He doesn’t seem to tire. He’s a ball hawk on defense, and he’s relentless on the offense attacking, using his speed or knifing into the paint to challenge bigs with his strong but thin frame.
He’s a good defensive player, he works to stay on ball, gives good help on the weak side, and he hustles back to make a play on defense, he got a few steals, and prevents easy baskets. He’s a good ball mover, not a lot of wasted dribble. He has the handles, and body to deal with the contact on the drive. He can hit the free throw jumper on the pull-up.
He has continued to grow his game. He’s a solid body guard with the ability to play through contact. He takes it strong into the paint, right at the front of the rim. If he gets a good look he’ll put up 3-pointers, he dropped a few from the top and on the wings. He has good foot movement, a wide stance, and defends with good intensity.
Copeland didn’t start this game, but he was on the court during a 4th quarter comeback that fell short. He can be a contributor. He can score the ball using a good set of handles to get into the paint for different finishes including reverses, coming fearlessly to challenge bigs. He can hit the corner 3.
He has a good bounce, he resets quickly and goes out of his area to get rebounds, he has shot blocking abilities at the 16u level. His points comes from working the boards for put backs. He goes up strong off two in the paint.
At 6’0 he plays more like a forward using his body to force his way around the paint area. He’s a guard with good ball handling who can punish you going to the basket. He’s a rebounding guard at this level who gets his fair share, including put backs.
He’s a solid under 6’0 point guard, showing he can run the offense in half-court sets. He handles ball pressure, using his thick body and handles to bring the ball up court. He can penetrate the paint with a nice crossover dribble, then dish to shooters, or find others moving to the basket.
