Faced off against a talented point guard from Australia, Dom more than held his own in the matchup. Although his team ultimately came up short, Dominic was very efficient racking up 18 points on 9-14 shooting while also dishing out 5 assists. He was able to get to his spots off the bounce and showcased a nice floater to score over a giant frontcourt. Does well playing off two feet which allows him to utilize a variety of pivots, shot-fakes, and step-throughs to get his shots off. Fairbanks is a very quick with the ball in his hands, but is the type of player who doesn’t get sped up in the process.
I’m not sure of the last time I’ve seen a player under 5’8 have a game like Jacey did. He was electric from the opening tip, just blowing by any defender in front of him to get to the rim for some crafty finishes. There were transition opportunities where defenders had a 10 foot head start on him, and Jacey would still beat them up the floor with the ball. Tough finisher at his size who can also stretch it out well beyond the arc. Defensively he was a pest on the ball, and had opposing point guards frustrated with his ball pressure. Was able to force a handful of turnovers against Minnesota Lightning with his quick hands and ability to move his feet to draw charges.

Jaden is usually more well known for his three point shooting, but on Sunday morning he made a huge impact on the defensive end. On the opening possession of the game he stepped in to take a charge, and ended up drawing four by the time the final buzzer went off. Not only did those help pick up stops for his team, but they also contributed to getting the opposing team’s 6’10 big in foul trouble. Started to find his rhythm from three in the second half, and I thought he did a great job of changing his speeds to attack and then kick the ball out to his open shooters once the defense collapsed.

If there was a quicker point guard in attendance over the weekend, I certainly didn’t see them. Isaac can absolutely fly, and any time the ball was in his hands he had the potential to make a play. There were a few times on Sunday where he was forcing his game a bit too much, but on Saturday against a tough Minnesota Select team he was dominant. He just finds ways to get to the basket and hang in the air to finish. In transition is where he really shines as his court vision allows him to drop dimes to his athletic wings sprinting the floor. At 6′ he also had a pair of impressive blocks where he came flying in to swat the ball. Really impressive unsigned senior point guard out of Australia.
Max Lorenson Max Lorenson 6’2″ | SG Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN proved to be an excellent addition to Minnesota Select. He’s so good at changing his speeds on the ball, able to lull defenders to sleep and then blow right by them to get into the paint. Once at the rim he’s one of the most explosive guards in Minnesota’s 2025 class as he can just hang in the air and contort his body and various ways to finish over or around shot blockers. Showed a dangerous right-to-left crossover into a mid-range shot as well. Has the frame and athletic ability to be a strong perimeter defender.

Kaden was dominant in a Sunday morning game for MN Crossfire, particularly in the first half where he poured in 25 points to help his team build a big lead. He recognized the opposing team was being lazy with their transition defense, so any time he got the chance to push the ball and attack he was going to do so. If he was met by a guard, Kaden was simply too strong and muscled his way to the rim to finish. If a forward stepped up, Kaden has the quickness and reaction time to get around them and then extend to finish off the glass. Caught fire from three towards the end of the first half as well. Big time scoring performance from the 2024 guard.

I though Da’Marcus was rock solid in all of the games I saw. Both as a defender and scorer he just makes plays. As a defender he’s tough as nails with the ability to use his body to guard bigger wings, while also having the agility to move his feet with smaller guards. Had a nasty block where he sent a lay-up attempt flying off the court showcasing his bounce in the process. His body control around the rim is impressive, and he finds ways to get to the basket on or off the ball. Super hard working player as well who never seems to take plays off and is always going to compete for rebounds/loose balls.
