In a Saturday morning contest, Vaisagote started the game on fire scoring his squad’s first seven points. It started with a smooth stepback three, then he knifed through the defense like a hot knife through butter. After a steal he buried another triple. While he was productive the rest of the contest, this impressive start to the tournament was the best example of the developing microwave like scoring ability.
This continues a strong streak of productive viewings from rising junior from Lawton. He’s one of the more explosive 2025 guards in Oklahoma, and has consistently been a sniper from the beyond the arc.
Kalli Johnson
Kalli Johnson
Another 2025 prospect playing in the 17U Division, injuries hindered the Booker T Washington Hornet during this past high school season. But he seems to be finding his legs this spring, as an athleticle and active driver and rebounder. He’s quick off his feet, but also has the type of frame that hints he should develop more power to his movements. More than just an athletic presence, he shot it well from the mid-range and from beyond the arc.
The coach’s son background for Johnson can be seen when he moves off the ball in transition to race to his spots for threes, or setting defenders up when running through sets in the halfcourt. This spring has shown the building blocks are in place for Johnson to become more of a contributor for a deep 2025 class at Booker T Washington next winter.
Jaiden Gastle
Jaiden Gastle
One of the best athletes in the tournament, Gastle first caught the eye with his motor and explosiveness. He’s quick off the floor and is eager to play above the rim. From slams, blocks to also being an outstanding rebounding guard, the Texas standout has an extra gear compared to much of the field. He’s also strong on drives or post up attempts against smaller guards.
Gastle’s high activity level anchored an afternoon win for Team Phoenix, setting up an intriguing Sunday morning match up against one of the best independent teams in Oklahoma, Primetime.
Isaiah Hooks
Isaiah Hooks
Another out of state prospect that caught the eye with undeniable play, Hooks was a super productive, up tempo lead guard. Not only was he active on defense, the smaller guard even recorded a few key offensive rebounds. Along with finding ways to come down with rebounds while being the smallest player in the court, he understands angles and ways to get off his shot against taller foes. Factor in quality three point shooting and playmaking, Hooks left his mark all over the game in a Saturday morning victory.
