Ta’coreyian Williams
Williams is that just looks strong and athletic as soon as you see him. He has long arms, is super ripped, and regardless of who you are he screams I am an athlete. As I watched him play throughout the weekend one thing I quickly noticed is how he moves so smoothly both with and without the basketball. He consistently crashed the offensive boards and got rebounds and even had a few poster dunks throughout the weekend that just wowed you. I think he would be a great fit for a college program that can develop him and turn him into more of a consistent player on the perimeter. When on the perimeter he doesn’t even look to shoot the ball at all and focuses on penetrating and getting his teammates involved. As he gets more comfortable on the perimeter I can see him being a player that is hard to contain because of his explosiveness and consistent activity around the rim.
Hunter Mack – Nelms
Hunter Mack – Nelms
Nelms is a guy that can shoot the basketball. He is at his best when he can either catch and shot or catch and one dribble going either direction or pull up. With the guards that he has he can roam around the perimeter with his feet set to just shoot the basketball. When he is on defense he is good at helping his man and not letting the opposing player with the ball get past him. Sometimes because of his length, he purposely allows his defender to go past him especially if he is smaller so that he can get the block. I would like to see him focus on staying in front and doing this will keep him out of foul trouble and preserve more injury at the same time. He is always posed throughout the game regardless of whether it is a blowout or a game that comes down to the last-second shot.
Josh Barnett
Josh Barnett
Burnett is a guy that allows the defense to be the thing that gets him going on the offensive end. He is relentless on the defensive end regardless of him being on or off the ball. What makes him the most lethal on both ends is his quick hands which allow him to get steals on defense and be able to easily handle the ball on the offensive end of the court. In watching him throughout the weekend he is more of a streaky shooter than he is an actual shooter. The best thing about him is he won’t force the issue and will simply let the offensive come to him. I think as long as he continues to take on the defensive mentally that he can go far with basketball. Whatever college ends up giving him a chance in the future will have a rare kid due to his mentality.
Ja’Corey Robinson
Ja’Corey Robinson
Robinson is a guy that doesn’t have a specialty. He is at his best when he is allowed to get up and down the court. In the system that he played in with Topeka City United (TCU), he was able to do a bunch of slashing to the basket which lead to several dunks throughout the weekend. He didn’t do a bunch of shooting the basketball and loves to crash the offensive glass to get put backs. While watching him, he seems a bit raw in certain areas which tells me he might be still adjusting to his body from hitting a recent growth spurt. As he continues to develop his game and I can see him turning into a nice combo guard that becomes very versatile on the defensive side of the basketball.
Micheal Vincent
Micheal Vincent
Vincent is a guy that is a low-post presence and a threat to get a double-double every time he steps on the floor. It isn’t his scoring that makes him as much of a threat as it is his knack for basketball when it comes to rebounding. Every time the ball came off the rim, it seemed like he was always in the perfect place to get the rebound. When he does get the ball on the offensive end of the floor he knows how to keep the ball high to keep smaller guards from coming in and trying to disrupt what he is trying to do offensively.
