Now let’s give credit to a few 2025s who played up at the Jayhawk Jam, some of whom were so good, they were in consideration for the 17U all-star teams.
2025s who impressed at the Jayhawk Jam (in alphabetical order):
Moddelmog showed off great range from behind the arc, often launching from 22 feet and beyond. He is a dangerous shooter from deep and a consistent threat in the midrange. He’s got a man’s body, capable of banging in the paint and backing down defenders. He works hard on the glass and guarding opposing bigs.

Reece Murdock
Reece Murdock
Out of this group of 2025s, Murdock is the one who would have made the 17U all-star team had we not decided to separate out the 2025s for their own list. He was that good. On a really good team at the tournament, he did all the little things that led up to victories, including hitting two free throws to clinch an overtime win. His ability to get offensive rebounds and score in traffic is impressive. He is a physical player who seems to thrive on contact. He is physically mature and grasps the nuances of play in the paint at both ends.
Cannon Northcraft
Cannon Northcraft
A dangerous shooter from deep, Northcraft is long and lean. He can get shots off from deep with his length and high release. Northcraft is an athletic forward who can really run and knife his way through traffic. He wasn’t the star of his team, but he contributed in a variety of ways. And defenses can’t leave him on the perimter for a second.
Another shooter, Perry can get his shot off in a flash and knocked down a high percentage at the Jayhawk Jam. He spreads the defense and makes smart, unselfish plays. He is a competitor who sticks his nose in for rebounds and loose balls.
Highlights
Eestyn Prater
Eestyn Prater
Prater is a smart scorer. He didn’t take a ton of shots from the perimeter. He mainly made his impact penetrating and using his power to get shots off in the midrange and at the goal. He hits a high percentage of contested shots and gets to the line. He kicked out effectively when an open shooter had a better look. He showed athleticism and anticipation on defense to go with his strength.
Elijah Watts
Elijah Watts
Really impressive playmaker who got his own shot at times but also did a great job getting the ball to his teammates with court awareness and vision. He stood out at the defensive end as a handsy pest who poked away dribbles and jumped passing lanes. He showed an understanding of how to work the pick and roll, drawing defenders and making nice passes to bigs.
