I’ve picked out a few new names of guys who stood out that I might have missed on Friday and Saturday. So, without further ado, here are even more players from the event that were key guys for their teams and showed a lot of potential on Sunday.
17U Standouts
Andrew Dearman | 6’4 | TC Elite | Hanford/WA | 2023
As one of the bigger kids on his team he was tasked with guarding a lot bigger players in the post. He’s a strong kid who showed he can be a versatile defender as well as helping the offense with some perimeter shooting, and the ability to get inside and make impact plays at the rim with his outstanding motor.
Jordan Valencia-Alvarado | 5’10 | TC Elite | Richland/WA | 2023
This guy plays a smart game, balancing aggression with patience, and was really able to get in between defenders and attack gaps well. He’s another guy that can hurt you inside or out and is a tenacious player on both ends.

| 6’5 | BDH Elite | WA | 2024
Wood is a big, strong guy who, when at his best, is draining corner threes, taking slower defenders off the dribble, and making a big impact at the rim. He also shows a little bit of vision from inside positions and was able to find his rhythm Sunday afternoon.

Todd Beamer | 2024

| 5’11 | BDH Elite | Todd Beamer/WA | 2024
This guard continues to show extended range from 3-point but also understands how to attack bigger guys at the rim and in the paint with crafty finishes. He’s got the hands and eyes to make plays on defense too and is someone you always have to keep track of.
16U Standouts
Connor Delaby | 6’1 | Team Rize Elite | Rocklin/CA | 2025
This guy was on fire from distance, nailing at least six 3-pointers that I saw against Team Progress. He is always ready to shoot, finds the rim quick, and has good range with a high-arching shot that more often than not found nothing but net. He was draining shots off the catch and showed some ability to put it on the floor for a quick move to open space off the dribble.

| 5’8 | Team Progress | Horizon Christian MS/OR | 2027
The 2027 guard has incredible poise under pressure with the ball and can create space, hold off defenders, and find space at the rim. He has a good motor, a competitive spirit, and is a kid to watch going forward.
Justin Cheng Justin Cheng 6'1" | SG Westview | 2026 OR | 6’3 | Team Progress | Westview/OR | 2026
Cheng had one of the best work rates I saw Sunday and is a guy that affects the game in a lot of ways. He rebounded, defended, won 50/50 balls, and was able to knock down some shots from the mid-range as well.
Qai Gresham | 6’3 | Team Progress | Gresham/OR | 2026
Gresham didn’t have a huge game numbers-wise but he is a strong kid who can bump inside, finish at the rim, and plays a pretty smart game staying strong with the ball. He has some sneaky athleticism too and looks like a kid that could be a sleeper on this Team Progress.
Jacob Hurskin

| 6’2 | BDH Elite | Thomas Jefferson/WA | 2025
His team started their Sunday afternoon game with six guys and pretty soon were down to just five. Hurskin helped them get the win by making plays all over the court. He had a couple of big blocks at the rim, hit some threes from outside, and as usual, worked hard on the glass.
Javon Barbee

Franklin Pierce | 2025

| 6’4 | BDH Elite | Franklin Pierce/WA | 2025
Barbee has really hit his stride the last couple of tournaments for BDH, getting to the rim, taking guys off the dribble, and finding a new gear on the offensive end. He also takes on players on the defensive end and ended his spring run with another strong performance Sunday.
Jabari Preston | 6’3 | Prospect Kids | Spanaway Lake/WA | 2025
Preston is a physical guard who has a nice blend of scoring from outside and at the rim. He’s able to hold off defenders with his shoulders, create space at the rim, and has the touch to hit from tight angles. He always seemed ready to punch back in a back-and-forth game Sunday against BDH.

Jordan Bennett

| 5’10 | BDH Elite | Emerald Ridge/WA | 2026
Known for his defense, Bennett found his rhythm from the field in a close game for BDH on Sunday. He came through in big moments to help keep momentum on BDH’s side, dropping in jumpers from outside and keeping pressure on opposing ballhandlers all the way up the court.
Jarden Cortez | 5’10 | No Fear Elite | Gregori/CA | 2026
Cortez is a strong guard who uses his physicality to bump defenders off of him on his drives and finish from all around the paint. He had a quick first step Sunday and was able to keep guards moving side-to-side in order to work for an angle at the rim.
