Ronnie Fields Elite Plus 17U Opens Strong

Checked out Ronnie Fields Elite Plus to begin the evening. Their 17U squad scored a 66-59 win against a good Hopson Elite out of Ohio. Early and often it was Fenwick 2025 6'0” scoring combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2105305' first='Dominick' last='Ducree'] who had it rolling. The rising junior is playing up a year, but more than handled it with his combination of speed, strength, and creativity off the bounce. Got in the lane with consistency finishing and earning trips to the charity stripe while also mixing in crisp pull up twos. He had 16 points in the win. Nazareth 2025 power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1598755' first='Matthew' last='Callahan'] has legit size at 6'7” and was effective as a rim protector and area rebounder. Also flashed some skill in a 10 point outing. Unsigned senior Simon Readfearn netted 16 points as a two guard with length and decent athleticism that can knock in a shot. They got a spark from 2025 Louis Williams Jr in the first half with his defense, transition finishing, and shot making. Don't sleep on Omar Kaakaji from Nazareth. The 6'0” 2024 guard has a compact three point shot which led him to 11 points.

Hopson Elite got a nice outing from their go to guard Kendall Bentley. The River Rouge (OH) 6'2” powerfully built scoring guard put pressure on the rim getting downhill with consistency. Won off the bounce on straight line takes along with some shake. Finished well in the paint for 16 points. Liked what we saw from their 6'5” 2024 small forward Liberty Benton (OH) sharp shooter [player_tooltip player_id='1943737' first='Carson' last='Conaway']. Lefty with size can really let it fly from distance off the catch. Keep an eye on guards [player_tooltip player_id='1285254' first='Micah' last='Bays'] and Jalen Brown on this squad as well!

M14 National 1 16U Shoots Lights Out Behind Team Ball

Second game we caught was a double digit win for M14 National 1 at the 16U level as they defeated Hopson Elite Dixon 78-58. M14 came out throwing flames from the jump. They could not miss from distance as they built up almost a 20 point lead halfway through the first half. St. Charles North 2025 shooting guard Auggie Hoffman was on fire from three. The two guard was automatic off the catch along with pick/pop situations. Yorkville 2025 5'11” combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1658189' first='Christian' last='Harrell'] played mostly off the ball using his lefty shot from three along with getting out in transition. [player_tooltip player_id='1936398' first='Brady' last='Goken'] (Wheaton Warrenville South) is a great role player at 6'3” that ran the floor and finished with toughness inside. [player_tooltip player_id='1511975' first='Camden' last='Vine'] from St. Charles North did a little bit of everything hitting threes, finishing around the hoop, and passing. Speaking of passing they got nice outings from both of their lead guards Mitchell Erickson (Glenbard South) and Will Heckman (Benet) as they shared the ball and scored when opportunities presented themselves.

The prospect that caught our attention for Hopson Elite Dixon was Swanton (OH) 6'2” two guard Keyon Harvey. Has a college ready body with broad shoulders and good strength. Plus shooter too as he hit three triples in the first half.

Team Fear None Indiana 17U Shares Wealth in W

Enjoyed watching Team Fear None Indiana in their 73-53 win against M14 National 2 17U. It started early with the ball pressure from their guards and getting out in transition. Kokomo (IN) 2025 point guard Adayveon Young is a 5'11” rising junior that had a knack for finishing with acrobatics in the paint and pushing off steals in transition. He had 7 points. They got a spark from long and rangy 2024 guard Rondell Greene. Lefty is a scoring guard that loves to get out in transition and use his athleticism as he had 14 points. The most impressive player was Marion (IN) 2024 small forward Mahreon McFarland. Build like an outside linebacker he had a strength and athleticism advantage on everyone. Used it playing with a high-motor rim running for dunks including one off the glass and was all over the boards in traffic. Converted through contact for 15 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1937956' first='Alex' last='Danehl'] was the bright spot for M14 in this one. The Metea Valley 2024 6'2” shooting guard showed he could knock down threes off the catch and dribble handoffs netting 17 points. Wheaton Academy 2024 6'6” power forward Alex Moncau is an intriguing prospect with his length and mobility. Flashed just scoring 6 points, but definitely worth keeping tabs on.
