When you cover eight AAU tournaments in two moths. You quickly become familiar with the general theme of a particular event. Sometimes it's highly competitive and emotionally charged play. Sometimes it one particular position group (posts, point guards) that dominate the field.

This past weekend in Columbus it was all about the shooters. Following are seven shooters that stood out from the deep and talented field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1617867' first='Xavier' last='Vickerstaff'] 6-3 2025 Mayfield (OH) (pictured) Came out firing early Friday night and never really let up. Leading Cleveland area Grassroots Elite to a perfect record on the weekend. The lefty showed very deep range on Friday night. Displayed a confident and smooth release. Adjusted well as defenses began to run him off the line.

Connor Bach 5-11 2025 Eaton (OH) Shot the ball well for [program_tooltip program_id='2080539' first='Gem' last='City Basketball Club'] this weekend. Not very big but was able to get his shot off quickly with an efficient and trigger quick release. Standout contest was a Sunday morning duel with a Michigan team that featured a bevy of excellent shooters as well (see below) Finished with a game high 22 points in that contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1432057' first='Brady' last='Ganley'] 6-1 2025 Brecksville-Broadview Heights(OH) The OBC sniper is perhaps the most athletically gifted of this bunch. Was in constant motion off the ball. Moved with speed and purpose. Relocating well to the appropriate spots. Caught the ball in the shooting motion and got it up very quickly. Put up 14 points against [program_tooltip program_id='2077011' first='Corey' last='Graham Elite'] to close out the weekend. The Buffalo based CGE squad featured some serious speed in the backcourt. Didn't seem to faze Ganley at all.

We'll wrap up with two Michigan tandems who play well off each other. One doesn't really have choice but to play nice with each other

[player_tooltip player_id='1811795' first='Craig' last='Hureskin'] 6-1 2024 Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills and [player_tooltip player_id='1870298' first='Jacek' last='Haight'] 5-11 2024 Allendale (MI) While this West Michigan duo shot it well in Columbus as usual. This is a bit of a cumulative award. They began the spring scorching nets at Rumble in the Rapids closer to home. They ended it the same way. Hureskin averaged nearly thirty points on the weekend. Highlighted by a pair of 33 point outings. Along with a weekend high of 35 points. Thar is some serious work. As good as Hureskin is as a scorer. Haight might be the better long range shooter of the two. Haight put up 24 points in a close victory over a good Kentucky Hoops squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='1437568' first='Dempsey' last='Ray Cull'] 6-7 2025 Flint Powers Catholic and [player_tooltip player_id='1437572' first='Jesse' last='James Cull'] 6-7 2025 Flint Powers Catholic (MI) This is the twin duo that is forced to play nice with each other. All joking aside. These two players are the prototype for the modern stretch four prospect. They shoot it with an ease and fluidity that you usually only associate with guards. In fact as 2025 prospects. That might just be where they end up positionally. It will interesting to watch them develop in the next two years. They were not able to play much this past season after a transfer. A ton of skill and upside with both players.
