Here at Prep Hoops Indiana we take a “no weekends off” approach to the spring and summer so you know we will be in the gym as always. The Prep Hoops Circuit heads to Chicago for the Midwest Melee and there is a good tournament over in Columbus, Ohio with the Nike Super Sixteen. However, I’ll have boots on the ground at Warren Central High School for the annual G3 Invitational featuring a strong list of Indiana-based grassroots programs. Let’s highlight six prospects I’m planning on evaluating a little closer over the course of the weekend.
In terms of length, athleticism, and mobility this 6’6″ forward out of Center Grove has some really intriguing tools. Byrd has put together a good spring for Indiana Ice 2024 on the Adidas Gold circuit showing some real upside. He can use his size to finish around the basket while possessing some improving skill that lets him operate out on the perimeter. His stock could really take off in the coming months.

Casky has really impressed this spring with his continued improvement as a playmaker out of the backcourt. He already possesses all of the physical tools as an elite athlete with a strong frame. However, what I’ll be watching this weekend is his ability to handle the ball and pass to see if he is a high-level secondary playmaker or if he can actually project to play some point guard at the next level. He’s done a lot while initiating offense for Progeny 2024 this spring.
This is a prospect that I admittedly haven’t seen much of aside from a few weekends ago in Louisville at the Grassroots Showcase. English is an athletic 6’4″ wing that has caught the attention of some schools at the next level this spring with DI Indiana 2025 and I’ll be checking in to see how his skill set projects to the next level. Need to really get a better feel for him as a prospect and develop a more complete evaluation.
One of my favorite up-and-coming prospects in the Class of 2025, Howard is an emerging guard from Pike High School that showcases a high skill level in the backcourt. In a role that continued to expand throughout his sophomore season, the 5’11” guard shot 37% from three-point range and averaged 7.3 points per game. I’ve caught bits and pieces of a couple games this spring, but look forward to sitting down and watching his Progeny 2025 team this weekend at the G3 Invitational to dive a little deeper into my evaluation.
Kegerreis is a high-academic prospect that has emerged as one of the most sought after small college recruits in the state of Indiana this spring. I didn’t get to see Roncalli at all during the high school season so I’m still getting caught up on his evaluation this spring for Kyle Guy Elite 2024. The 6’3″ guard averaged 13.6 points per game while shooting 43.9% from three-point range as a junior. He’s really shown some ability to create off of the bounce this spring too.

One of the top playmaking point guards in Indiana’s Class of 2024, Lewis has had a strong spring with Ty Harris Elite 2024 on the UA Rise circuit. He is extremely quick with the ball in his hands, creates for himself and others off of the bounce, and can be a pest as an on-ball defender as well. The 5’9″ point guard should continue to pick up some college interest going into the summer months and I’ll be deepening my evaluation this weekend of what type of level I see him projecting at.
