Marcus Jackson | Team Thrill ’25
Jackson is a prospect that oozes with upside. He’s a couple of weeks off of helping Edmondson Westside to a Class 1A State championship largely because of his ability to impact the paint at both ends. His upside, potential and raw skill set were on display today specifically in a sequence that included the 6’9 lefty forward finishing a reverse dunk after a steal in transition followed by a chasedown block as the opposition pushed the pace following the dunk. After he blocked the lay-up attempt off the glass, Team Beyond recovered the possession and missed a shot, which Jackson tracked down to collect the rebound. Throughout the day he was disrupting shots around the rim simply with his presence. He pursues rebounds at their peak and does a good job of locating guards quickly.
Tyler Jackson Tyler Jackson 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2025 #40 Nation MD | Team Thrill ’25
Jackson thrives in this sort of setting where he frequents isolation situations and ability to have control of the ball on the fast break. As he settled in, the 6’2 guard started getting to his spots in the mid-range, utilizing pump fakes and finishing off the attack with step-through floaters. His ability to use his burst and quick twitch movements while retaining sound balance is extremely impressive and makes for a touch matchup defensively.
TJay Beckles | Team Beyond ’24
For someone like myself who tries to follow the Baltimore area closely, Beckles has been a guy that I’ve seen since his freshman season and his shot-making ability from deep has always been his calling card. He has made progressions in other areas, but the 5’10 guard has become lethal and more efficient from beyond the arc in particularly off the bounce. He did a great job today of sprinting to the corners in transition where teammates found him for clean looks. Beckles was also effective off the ball as others penetrating by lifting to open spot and using his quick trigger off the catch to make his man pay for any slight hesitation in a closeout.
Lance Porter | Team Beyond ’23
It was my first time getting eyes on Porter and he caught the gym’s attention with his first dunk in the open floor where he showcased some surprising athletic pop. The 6’3 unsigned senior, who is open to a post-grad prep year, had a few other occasions where he finished above the rim as a result to his anticipation in the passing lanes as an off-ball defender.
JJ Kelly | Team Thrill ’25
Like Marcus Jackson, Kelly is a new face to this Team Thrill program who will be welcomed with open arms because of his productivity. He has good size at 6’5 that is paired with plus athleticism. He’s still finding his groove with this group, but Kelly is going to make his presence felt on lob opportunities, being able to defend multiple positions and scoring at an efficient clip throughout the spring and summer.
Ryan Truitt Ryan Truitt 6'2" | SG Mount St. Joseph | 2024 State MD | Team Beyond ’25
Truitt had his number called halfway through the season for Mount St. Joe to step into the starting lineup. He’s much more involved on this team considering he’s one of the primary options and made his case as one today. The 5’11 guard is shifty and got into the paint with regularity during the course of their two games. If he wasn’t finishing floaters off of either foot, Truitt was attacking the rim with aggression and welcoming contact in the air. It could be a sign for some big scoring performances this spring for the rising junior point guard.
Rodney Scott Rodney Scott 5'10" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2025 State MD | Team Thrill ’25
Scott is the type of guards who understands how to control the tempo of a game effectively. If his team wants to play more of an up-tempo pace, he uses his quick end-to-end speed with the ball to create for others. Scott can also operate in half court with high ball-screens as he did today and showcase patience, pace and good decision-making as the weak side of the defense reacts.
