With countless games condensed into a few days, Spring has truly become the evaluation period. For players completing their sophomore year season, the Spring time is crucial, because it puts them closer to the date, that college coaches can make contact with potential prospects. In this article, we highlight some class of 2025’s poised for a breakout Spring Season.
Saw Bass recently at a Pangos event and he looked good. The forward showed decent post moves, and flashed the ability to run the floor well, catch and finish. His size is intriguing, and his ability to score with his back to the basket makes him a unique prospect.
Highlights
After coming off a state title, quick is poised for a breakout spring. Shooters are always at a premium and he is one of the best we have in the state. The PG has good speed, but it will be interesting to watch how his overall floor general game develops. With his shooting, combined with the fact there’s a demand for the position, don’t be surprised if he gets his name on the recruiting radar this summer.
Look for Jones to be a potential stockriser this summer. The sophomore guard played his best basketball as the season got towards the end, culminating with a dub in the 3A state championship game. While that was his breakout game, a couple more performances like that will definitely put him on the Grassroots breakout list.
I’m going to go out of my way to get a good look at McCraven this Spring. He is a good on ball defender, which is crucial to the success for those playing the position he plays, and he also has the type of tempo changing speed that can impress. Really look forward to watching him perform.
Jones had a big weekend last week playing in the NXT Pro event. It should come as no surprise as his on the court play has always been solid. He is a massive human, however he has a soft touch. both around the rim as well as from behind the line. Jones is one of the better interior offensive weapons, set to make a breakout season.
