Continue ReadingA physical power forward who powers through contact for buckets, Schmeltzer is a high-energy player who really competes hard on the glass on both ends of the floor. He has great hands, a non-stop motor, and he uses his big, physical frame to his advantage on both ends of the floor, bullying opposing players. He carves out space well, using his strength to seal defenders. He showed a little bit of ability off the dribble as well, catching at the top of the key, putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim for a nice finish.
Hodges is an explosive athlete who finishes above the rim in transition. He has tremendous body control around the bucket and has the physicality to finish through contact. He uses his length and quickness effectively on the defensive end of the floor, getting into passing lanes and turning defense into offense in the blink of an eye. He competes on the glass with his athleticism and quick second jump.
A physical wing with a great feel for the game, Shadrick is a gifted ball-handler and passer who sees the floor extremely well and loves to get others involved. He uses his physical frame to power through contact and finish at the bucket, bullying his way to the rim in the process. When he’s playing downhill he’s really tough to slow down, both as a scorer and a facilitator.
Highlights
A big wing shooter with a quick release off the catch, Bull has a smooth stroke and extended range. He moves well without the ball in his hands, finding space in the defense to get his shot off with squared feet and good elevation on his shot.
Highlights
Vargas is small, but he’s cat quick and is a great ball-handler who sees the floor well and uses his quickness and change of direction to get by defenders a will. He shoots it really well off the dribble, getting the ball into his shooting pocket quickly, and he’s a creative finisher around the rim. He moves his feet well and has quick hands when he’s playing on-ball defense.
An athletic wing who can get to the bucket both in transition and in the halfcourt, Thomsen uses his frame to power through contact and finish at the bucket. He has a smooth stroke off the catch, although his release needs to be sped up a little bit, and he gets really good rotation on his jumper.
