The Pleasant Valley Spartans made a run to remember this season during the playoffs with it ending just short in Des Moines at the Well. They ended the season with an overall 20-6 record and falling to the eventual state champs in the Valley Tigers, by a final of 58-51. Looking toward their future they have some nice pieces that will be ready to step up next season and do whatever they can to help this Spartans group get back to the state tournament, one of those pieces being

. Beinborn is solid. He has good size, speed, and athleticism for his age while being able to score from all three levels on the offensive end. His length and shooting ability really stand out, as it is tough to alter his shot once he hits you with a move to create separation into a pull-up. His game style I would categories as consistent and efficient. He does a solid job of making good choices when the ball is in his hands, knowing when to take-over and score it or distribute to an open teammate. This AAU season he will join up with the Quad Cities Shockers program, traveling the country and showing off his game throughout a number of different states over the spring/summer seasons. He will be a player I’ll be keeping an eye on moving forward as he will have a good chance of seeing a lot of minutes on the floor for the Spartans this fall. An opportunity he is sure to make the most of.

Beinborn was a new name for me and he impressed. He’s a strong, physical player who can rebound well on both ends of the floor and defend multiple positions, he’s a typical PV player who is hard-nosed and competitive. He has good length, moves his feet well, and is a pretty good ball-handler.
