Sam Senske Sam Senske 6'5" | SG Hawley | 2023 State MN — G — Next Level Basketball Academy
Call him a guard, or call him a forward. It doesn’t matter to me, and it shouldn’t to college coaches, either. I’ll just call Senske a really good basketball player. On Saturday morning, Senske was excellent. He started by dominating in the paint. The guard used his size and physicality to finish some really difficult layups in the paint. In the second half, Senske started to expand his range. He was able to step outside and drain a couple of deep triples. Senske’s versatility on offense was fun to watch. College programs should take note of the NLB Academy standout.
Lucca Svaldi — SG — Wisconsin Academy
Svaldi may not be the most flashy or exciting prospect on the floor. However, the Wisconsin Academy prospect has proven himself as a big-time performer when it matters most. In a close win for his squad on Saturday morning, the SG played a really good game. He tallied 19 points while also excelling as a defender.
Michael Cooper Michael Cooper 6'6" | PF Robbinsdale Cooper | 2023 State MN — G — Team Teague
I knew that Cooper could be in for a big game when he quickly put up five points in the first couple minutes of Team Teague’s Saturday morning game. But I would have been lying if I said I thought Cooper would end up scoring 41 (!) points. The guard proved to be unstoppable. It didn’t matter who was standing in front of him, the guard was going to score. This wasn’t a lucky performance, either. Cooper has proven himself this weekend to be a dynamic three-level scorer.
Max Woods Max Woods 5'11" | PG Chanhassen | 2024 State MN — PG — Minnesota Fury
Woods has become one of my favorite players to watch. The Minnesota Fury point guard is electric with the ball in his hands. He is just so quick and explosive when he decides to attack the rim. Woods is a tremendous overall athlete. He does a really good job of using his athletic ability to attack the rim and convert on acrobatic layups. Also a standout player on the football field, Woods is truly a dynamic athlete who is primed for success at the next level, regardless of which sport he decides to pursue.
Mikail Harmison Mikail Harmison 6'0" | SF Appleton West | 2023 State WI — SG — Team 1848
Attention small college programs: Harmison is still on the board! The Appleton West shooting guard was a bit of a late bloomer but he has really come into his own as of late. He has great positional size and is very versatile as a defender because of this. He can use his size and strength to match up with bigger players or guard on the perimeter. On offense, the SG is a tough slasher and an effective shooter. If he continues to make improvements in his game, the SG will certainly help a team win games at the college level.
Drew Daoust Drew Daoust 6'2" | PG Southern Door | 2025 State WI — PG — Wisconsin Crusaders
It almost appears as if Daoust has mastered the game of basketball at this stage. The Wisconsin Crusaders point guard is just so good offensively. He makes outside shots with ease, is crafty in the midrange, and is sneaky good as a slasher. Daoust is also very talented as a passer. When he is on the court, his squad’s offense runs much more smoothly.
Miles Nelson Miles Nelson 5'11" | PG Cristo Rey | 2024 MN — PG — Minnesota Heat
Even though he might not always stand out as a pure scorer, Nelson still finds ways to positively impact the game for Minnesota Heat. The point guard is gifted as a passer and facilitator. He plays with a very high IQ and does an excellent job at getting his teammates plenty of scoring opportunities. On Saturday, I thought that Nelson did many good things for his squad.
