Peyton Penland
Peyton Penland
A very poised point guard, Penland doesn’t make a lot of mistakes when handling the rock. Over the two games I watched of the 5-10 guard, what impressed me the most is his delivery when firing passes. Even with defenders surrounding him, Penland can fire a difficult pass and still hit his teammate right where he needs to. With a sturdy 5-10 frame, the senior floor general also isn’t afraid to take it himself to the rack and finish over taller defenders.
Marvin Christie Marvin Christie 6'2" | PG University Christian | 2026 FL
Marvin Christie Marvin Christie 6'2" | PG University Christian | 2026 FL
Despite being two-three years younger than many of the other players on Saturday, Christie looked like every bit like he belonged. An insanely shifty guard, the rising sophomore has a deep bag of dribble combos and a filthy handle to have no problem getting his defenders off balance. Additionally, Christie is a capable three level scorer that can score in a variety of ways. It’s going to be fun watching this young man continue to develop his game.
Whoever lands ’23 grad Ty Owens Ty Owens 6’0″ St lucie west centennial | 2023 FL is getting a do-it-all guard that can do nearly everything on the basketball floor. Offensively, Owens gets downhill in a hurry with the ability to finish with either hand near the basket. The 6-0 guard is extremely unselfish as well, and can hit pinpoint passes from any difficulty. Defensively, the senior floor general seems to always be in the action with his activity on or away from the ball.
Earl Murray IV
Earl Murray IV
One of the highest motors I witnessed all day, Murray isn’t afraid to do the dirty work as a guard, always trying to do the little things to propel his team to victory. As a floor general for his SSO squad, the ’24 graduate’s handle is as tight with his combination of speed and quickness. And when he does create his own offense, Murray’s high-arching floater is absolutely lethal within 5′.
A senior guard set to graduate this May, Falcon needs eyes on him every time the balls hits his hands. At 6-0 and 170 pounds, Falcon is able to finish through the toughest of contact and is not afraid to one bit. When he’s not driving to the basket, which he does very effectively, Falcon is very patient with the ball in his hands and is always looking to make the right read with his advanced basketball IQ.
Drew Armstrong
Drew Armstrong
A smooth lefty guard, Armstrong’s potential is through the roof over his next two years of high school. A pass-first player, the rising junior made some get-out-your-seat passes throughout Saturday. When he’s not dishing it out, Armstrong’s jumper is as smooth as butter from the catch and shoot or off the dribble.
