Team Trezz jumped out to an early lead thanks to a barrage of 3-pointers from ECU commit Jordan Vick Jordan Vick 5'11" | PG Word of God | 2025 State NC and it looked like they would run away with things, but then Rakease Passmore Rakease Passmore 6'6" | SF Combine Academy | 2024 State #50 Nation NC showed up and Garner Road came storming back. Passmore would change the game with his play and saw himself score 23 points all in the second half though Team Trezz would walk away with the victory in the end. It was an exciting battle between independent and shoe team, nonetheless and showed off the talent that is in the state of North Carolina.
Bobby Cannon showed off his ability to be an effective stretch-forward prospect, stepping out on the perimeter and knocking down shots while also showing off his ability to finish around the rim. He’s a 2024 name that should gain some traction on the recruiting scene this spring/summer with Garner Road 3SSB.
Team Wall was another independent squad that impressed on Saturday featuring 2024 guards Jullien Cole Jullien Cole 6'4" | SF Shiloh | 2024 State GA , Quasim Oden Quasim Oden 6'1" | PG GRACE Christian | 2024 State NC and Xavier Johnson Xavier Johnson 6'5" | PG Fayetteville Academy | 2024 State NC . Cole showed he’s ready to lead the way for their squad with his ability to get downhill and finish in traffic as well as knock down shots on the perimeter. Johnson showed off his shooting stroke in an impressive outing against Garner Road 3SSB in their second game of the day. Oden is an impressive lead guard that can make plays and find his own shots in space with his ballhandling ability.
Garner Road Select 2024 squad had an impressive slew of names to keep eyes on on Saturday at the Carolina Jam. They were led by point guards Amaree Barber Amaree Barber 6'0" | CG Jacksonville | 2024 State NC and JJ Moore JJ Moore 5'9" | PG Quality Education | 2024 NC . Barber is a crafty floor general that can knock down shots on the perimeter while Moore is the playmaker and paint-touching presence for them in the backcourt. Linwood Rowe Linwood Rowe 6'6" | SF Trinity Christian School | 2024 State NC is the spark for them with his versatility as a shooter and finisher around while the rim while Kaleb Spencer Kaleb Spencer 6'9" | PF First Flight | 2024 State NC is a relentless finisher around the rim and rim-protector defensively. They’re a talented bunch to keep an eye on given their chemistry on the floor.
2025 guard Zymire Spencer Zymire Spencer 5'10" | PG Pinecrest | 2025 State NC came up with quite the finish for Sandhills Machine NLPB in their battle against BTB from South Carolina. He came up with play after play down the stretch for them on both ends of the floor to secure a two-point victory in the end. He’s an intriguing name out of Pinecrest High that continues to impress with his strength, quickness and finishing ability around the rim.
Strong Center 2025 is a squad to keep an eye on led by Will James Jr Will James Jr 6'4" | SG Holly Springs | 2025 State NC , Jake Cackovic Jake Cackovic 6'7" | C Holly Springs | 2025 State NC and Greyson Land. They were an impressive trio that showed they could get out and make things happen in a variety of ways at the Carolina Jam. Cackovic is finding his confidence around the rim while using his length as a finisher. James showed he could knock down shots off the bounce, fly around on both ends of the floor and shoot the ball on the perimeter. Land showed he could clean things up on the glass, run the floor on the break and make plays off the bounce as well. He’s a new face out of Middle Creek High to keep eyes on.
