It’s always impressive to see a Guard that can make a high impact on games in ways besides scoring the ball. Although he can clearly score the ball at a solid rate, he made a very nice impact for his team rebounding the ball, finishing with a double/double on Friday night.

One of the senior leaders on their roster, he understands his role on the team which is to provide scoring and he embraces that role very well. He showcased his ability to score the ball from multiple levels and will be called on to take on that role throughout the season.

Was one of the bright spots for a very young Fayetteville Academy team last season and despite battling injuries through the high school and AAU season, he showed his talent and potential on numerous occasions. He can score the ball from multiple levels with efficiency regardless of how he is being defended and can move over to play the PG spot when needed.

Xavier Johnson Xavier Johnson 6'5" | PG Fayetteville Academy | 2024 State NC is a recent newcomer in the 2024 rankings but is worth bringing up again given his prowess at the guard position. He’s versatile given his ability to become a knockdown shooter or playmaker depending on rotations. He’s shown he can get downhill and finish at the rim just as well as he can knock down 3-pointers in bunches on the perimeter. He’s a name to get to know over at Fayetteville Academy.

Xavier Johnson Xavier Johnson 6'5" | PG Fayetteville Academy | 2024 State NC is a name to get to know out of Fayetteville with Team Wall . He’s a combo guard that’s slowly figuring out his role on the perimeter as a knockdown shooter and finisher around the rim when he puts the ball on the floor. He runs the point guard role at Fayetteville Academy during the HS season, where he’s shown he can handle ball pressure and run the offense there. As he learns to play more without the ball in his hands, look for his stock to grow within the state.

Johnson was impressive once again when I’ve seen him in person as a combo guard/foward who can score the ball anywhere. He’s very fluid and active in transition, as he runs the break will and is always looking to push the pace, on or off the ball. In the halfcourt he gets to his spots, knocks down jumpers and finishes well at the rim. He’s a complete solid package that does everything pretty well. He also played above the rim with his teammates and benefits really well when he can catch lobs and other sharp passes from a playmaking point guard.

He’s an aggressive combo guard prospect that’s shown he can knock down shots on the perimeter and facilitate in the backcourt when the ball is in his hands. He’s an emerging name to get to know out of Fayetteville that’s running with Team Wall on the grassroots scene. At 6-foot-5, he’s certainly a prospect for college coaches on the DI and DII scene to get eyes on.
