Jaylen Blakes team might have fallen in their game Saturday morning but not due to lack of effort. Blakes showed off impressive athleticism and skill around the hoop throughout the entire contest. Along with that he did well using his physical presence to make his mark on both sides of the floor for his Calumet City Thoroughbreds 2025 team. Blakes has a fairly high ceiling from what I saw today. He is a smart enough player to know that if he keeps expanding his game while working on staying consistent near the hoop, he will be a player that several coaches at the next level will find interest in moving forward.
Ethan Henderson

Ethan Henderson is an interest prospect all around who possesses a lot of promise. He is of great size at 6’3/4 while having a guard like skill set on the floor. He can handle, produce for his team, and distribute if he is being over-played by the defense. He uses his length to his advantage any chance he gets. This same length helps him create steals, tips, and deflections on the defensive side of the floor. Looking toward the future, this is another player that if he just learns to be more efficient all-around as a prospect over the next few seasons, he is going to be a hand-full for defenses on the high-school floor.

Landon Schramm Landon Schramm 6’6″ | PF Sheboygan North | 2025 WI stood out above most with his performance on Saturday morning. He showed that he is a real gamer that knows what is going on at all times on the court. There were several occasions in the contest where his teammates got stuck while trying to drive the ball toward the baseline, Landon would then face-cut his defender going toward the hoop for an open pass from said teammate for a finish at the rim. When he catches the ball in the post and has his back to the basket he shows a lot of nice things. Footwork, quick turns going over either shoulder, and a nice touch on the ball. This Lakeshore Force 2025 team played really well today. They were easily one of the most self-less teams I’ve seen all tournament with how often they choose to make the right choice and make an extra pass. Coaches for this group should be proud of what they are seeing this early in the AAU spring season.
Kwae China
Kwae China
When I walked in to watch the Team Iowa 17U team play this afternoon one of the first player that jumped out to me was Kwae. Kwae is a small forward who spreads the floor out for this team while being able to shoot the three, midrange, or get to the rim and post up. All of these things were on display in their 20 point victory today. The most impressive thing about his game is the patients he has with the ball. He doesn’t try to force things and lets the game come to him, no matter where he is placed on the floor. His hustle and versatility really shined in this one and I’m sure that will keep happening the rest of spring and into the summer season.
Quimby can handle the rock. He made that clear on Saturday with how he lead his team from the point guard position on the floor in a close loss this morning, followed by a big win later in the afternoon. In both contests he showed that he has a very high basketball IQ while being a vocal leader to the teammates on the floor around him. He showed a great attitude even when things weren’t going well and kept his group together through it all. This is the type of player you want your point guard to be when you describe him to others. An overall player-maker who has a great head on shoulders, especially under pressure in big moments of ball games. I’ll be keeping an eye on Quimby this summer. He could turn a lot of heads.
