We all knew that he’d be somewhere near the top. Then I watched him play his first high school game. He didn’t look, act or play like a freshman. Not even a little bit. Sanderson’s play followed that script the entire season. He showed a very advanced skill set and a mature game. Sanderson rose all the way to the top of the Prep Hoops Michigan class of 2026 prospect rankings.
Martin really proved himself as a freshman. He showed elite athleticism and playmaking ability. He played a pretty large role on one of the most talented teams in the state. While Muskegon loses a lot of top talent, they have a very nice core of younger players ready to step in. Martin has the chance to be a headliner for another high quality team next high school season.
Theodile turned a lot of heads as the season went along. This young man is for real. He’s long and athletic and brings it on the defensive end. He uses his length well and wisely, allowing him to block and alter shots. Theodile moves well both straight line and horizontally. He has good hip movement that allows him some freedom.
I was able to see much of a game where Behnke and Sanderson squared off. There were whispers in the gym about a nice possible matchup for the next 4 years between these 2 lead guards. Behnke had range beyond the arc and was confidently looking for his shot. He played well against top competition in that matchup and definitely slid up my list of prospects.
I’ll be perfectly honest, till about halfway through the season, I didn’t know about Menyweathers. My fault, not his. Then some film and a note came my way. This young man can play. Menyweathers has a strong frame for a freshman and plays very well off contact. He can take the ball into his defenders body, bounce off of it and bury a jumper. Menyweathers also had nice touch around the rim and on his floaters.
