I was lucky enough to see Menyweathers play within the month and the young man has some very real game. He controls tempo with aggressive handles and passing combined with a level of control. It allow him to push pace and be aggressive without turning it over. Menyweathers can find double lanes and make plays for himself and his teammates.

Remember that college basketball player thing that I said about Dante Wimberly Dante Wimberly 6'1" | PG Ypsilanti Lincoln | 2025 State MI at the beginning? Insert that here. Menyweathers can play the point at the next level. He has next level pace of play. Menyweathers doesn’t just play fast though, he does it with effectiveness. He pushed the pace with both the pass and the dribble against South Lyon. He was an absolute playmaker in this game. Menyweathers had assist after assist in transition, touching paint and delivering to teammates running with him on the wing. He also showed that he could finish and score. Menyweathers had a pretty floater finish that he used a couple of times in the game.

Menyweathers is a terrific all around athlete that could have an explosive junior season. He works very well from left to right, featuring a tough crossover move that puts defenders on his hip. Menyweathers can score attacking the rim and off a step back jumper when he puts defenders on their heels.

I’ll be perfectly honest, till about halfway through the season, I didn’t know about Menyweathers. My fault, not his. Then some film and a note came my way. This young man can play. Menyweathers has a strong frame for a freshman and plays very well off contact. He can take the ball into his defenders body, bounce off of it and bury a jumper. Menyweathers also had nice touch around the rim and on his floaters.
