One of the major things that stood out this year was that strength of schedule might not have helped a lot with the RPI it helped out with quality of play and the rise of competition. Many players were able to play some high level hoops and it payed off in the playoffs.
#1 Corner Canyon High School (25-2)
Excellent schedule that allowed them to play at a high level all year and it payed off in the end. Their BIG 3 was unreal this year, Brody Kozlowski Brody Kozlowski 6'8" | SF Corner Canyon | 2024 State #103 Nation UT , Max Toombs Max Toombs 6'3" | CG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT and Jaxson Roberts Jaxson Roberts 6'2" | PG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT and the result was a 6A Championship.
#2 Alta High School (24-4)
Alta was ready and composed with a tough schedule in region play and in the pre-season. Ace Reiser Ace Reiser 6'0" | PG Alta | 2024 State UT and Jaxon Johnson Jaxon Johnson 6'8" | SF Alta | 2024 State #106 Nation UT played at a high level. They got a lot of help from many players including new comer Dash Reiser Dash Reiser 5'9" | CG Alta | 2026 State UT who was huge in the playoffs. 5A State Champions.
#3 American Fork High School (19-9)
AF never backs down from a challenge and that is why they produce so much next level talent. We saw some excellent play from two players coming back in Tiger Cuff Tiger Cuff 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2024 State UT and Blake Rawson Blake Rawson 6'8" | PF American Fork | 2024 State UT . They will be tough again next year.
#4 Cyprus High School (23-5)
Cyprus played some inspired basketball but they fell just a bit short. We witnessed one of the best high school basketball careers come to an end with the play od Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT .
#5 Lone Peak High School (17-9)
Lone Peak was a program that made a surge late inthe year. Ike Staley Ike Staley 6'6" | SG Lone Peak | 2025 State UT and Chamberlain Burgess Chamberlain Burgess 6'9" | PF Lone Peak | 2025 State #214 Nation UT come back and they had big years this season.
#6 Olympus High School (24-3)
With two players with experience Olympus fell short but they have experience coming back next year and some more new comers that can play. They will be tough next season.
#7 Fremont High School (16-8)
Fremont has some players coming back that will elevate them but they do play in a tough region. Hunter Hansen Hunter Hansen 6'4" | PG Fremont | 2024 State UT was tough and he earned some respect on all fronts.
#8 Sky View High School (23-2)
Sky View was a team that could play with anyone. Tanner Davis Tanner Davis 6'5" | PG Sky View | 2024 State UT is going to be a problem again next year.
#9 Timpview (18-9)
Timpview was loaded with upper classman and they gave it their all and made it all the way to the final. James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT played on a high level and he passed the torch to Dean Rueckert Dean Rueckert 6'7" | SF Timpview | 2026 State UT . Timpview has a solid young core.
#10 Westlake High School (14-11)
If they played in a different region they would be towards the top. Westlake is always a tough out and they find ways to compete with their physical style of play.
#11 Dixie High School (22-5)
Dixie is a program that will always put together a team that can play with anyone. We always respect their elite schedule. Look for them to bounce back next year.
#12 Layton High School (16-8)
Layton has two players coming back that could help carry a team in Melhi Martin and KJ Miller KJ Miller 6'3" | CG Layton | 2024 State UT . They had a great year and won some tough games.
#13 Syracuse High School (15-8)
Syracuse ended the year on a tough loss but Kaden Ericksen Kaden Ericksen 6'2" | CG Syracuse | 2023 State UT was NICE! He should be a good player at the next level.
#14 Cottonwood High School (23-2)
Cottonwood was one of those teams everyone wanted to have success. They ran into a way in the playoffs but they will be back as they return one of the best players in the class of 2024 in Chris Cox Chris Cox 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ . Stay tuned.
#15 Orem High School (15-11)
Young squad that has a lot of promise. Look for them to make a big jump next year. Anthony Felesi Anthony Felesi 6'6" | CG Utah Prep | 2026 State UT and company are good. Experience will help their development. They could be one of the favorites next year.
#16 Woods Cross High School (18-5)
Woods Cross had a lot of player contribute. Jaxson Smith and Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger 6'3" | CG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT end some solid careers and both will play at the next level.
#17 Davis High School (14-12)
Davis has two players right off the bat that can make a big difference in Coleman Atwater Coleman Atwater 6'3" | PG Davis | 2025 State UT and Zach Fisher Zach Fisher 6'7" | CG Davis | 2024 State UT . The Darts will be back.
#18 Bingham High School (12-13)
Bingham plays a big time schedule every year and they continue to build on a program that plays with a lot of motor and they compete. Bright spot is Luke West Luke West 6'2" | SG Bingham | 2026 State UT is only a freshman.
#19 Lehi High School (19-6)
Grayson Brousseau Grayson Brousseau 6'6" | PF Lehi | 2024 State UT had a great year as he helped Lehi capture a Region Championship. Preston Varner Preston Varner 6'5" | SF Lehi | 2023 State UT and Braxton Hawkins Braxton Hawkins 6'2" | SG Lehi | 2023 State UT were as a solid as they come. Copper Lewis is a great prospect coming back.
#20 Copper Hills High School (12-12)
Copper Hills has a great young PG to watch the next couple of years in Isaiah Reiser Isaiah Reiser 5'10" | PG Copper Hills | 2026 State UT . Solid year for Copper Hills they should be good next year too.
#21 Pleasant Grove High School (11-14)
PG was a solid team with Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT , Issac Garret and company. A few young players will be back.
#22 Springville High School (19-7)
Springville has a few young players coming back next year in Jamyn Sondrup Jamyn Sondrup 6'10" | C Springville | 2026 State UT and Mason Hansen Mason Hansen 6'1" | SG Springville | 2026 State UT that make a solid core. They need to elevate their schedule to get ready for state.
#23 Riverton High School (17-7)
Riverton had a hot start but their strength of schedule was weak. Jaxson Kereks had a great year and has an opportunity to play at the next level.
#24 Cedar Valley High School (18-6)
Cedar Valley has some young talent coming back, looking forward to watching Jax Allen Jax Allen 6'4" | CG Orem | 2025 State #391 Nation UT develop.
#25 Manti High School (24-2)
Another banner was hung in Manti as The Templars had another great season. Do not be surprised if they repeat again next year.
