Junior Positional Rankings: CG’s

We now look at the combo guards for the junior class.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here are the top-9 CG's in the 2024 class:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1119247' first='Jamari' last='Phillips'] <strong>AZ Compass Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top scorers and shooters in the state. He has volleyball line range on his three point shooting and he can pull-up from mid. His strength allows him to score in the paint but his pinpoint passing separates him from many on the West Coast. He committed early to <strong>Arizona</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1498372' first='Vyctorius' last='Miller'] <strong>AZ Compass Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A three level scorer has a nasty mid-range pull-up. He gets high elevation and can shoot the three. He has plus athleticism on the break and reads the court well. He has had some big games over the past two years and is highly thought of in the West. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1152187' first='Luke' last='Shaw'] <strong>Valley Christian (Pictured) </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the best shooters in the AIA regardless of class. He spins it better than maybe anyone with incredible ball rotation. His range is extended out well past the three point line and he gets it off his hands about as quickly as you can. He pulls up quickly and he has good court vision. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='996166' first='Braeden' last='Speed']<strong> Brophy Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A physical combo guard is a fearless attacker to the basket. He has a big time motor to rebound and he will defend nearly every position on the floor. He can pull-up from mid and hit the three. He gets to the free line often and collects steals in bunches. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1036000' first='Khalon' last='Johnson'] <strong>Eduprize</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly athletic combo guard is becoming a three level scorer. He can shoot it from the perimeter from mid to the three plus make contested shots. He plays above the rim on the break and his best basketball is ahead of him. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1517384' first='Cooper' last='Campbell'] <strong>Phhoenix Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sharp shooting combo guard plays on or off the ball. He has good strength and real range to shoot it well beyond the arc. He makes good passes to teammates and his three point shooting separates him from many. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1284862' first='AJ' last='Osman'] <strong>Dream City Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A defensive ball hawk was one of the top on-ball defenders in the Grind Session and was on the 2023 All-Defensive Team. He can shoot it from the three point line plus drive it. He was arguably their best and most important player in the semis and finals. He scores it from both levels easily with good elevation on his jumpers but his court vision really catches your eye. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1278778' first='William' last='Dixion'] <strong>Canyon del Oro</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An athletic guard with a defensive minded attitude and toughness. He has become very strong for his position combined with his bounce. He is a fearless defender inside and will pick some pockets as well. His skill is slowly polishing up from mid to the three and he has many games where he will score maybe 15 points but throw in 2 blocks, 2 steals and 3 assists. He is one of the better juniors in Tucson. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
