the past few seasons and they’ll tell you one thing’s clear – the young man is one of the hardest workers around. College programs took notice of the 6-foot-3 guard from Tigard High School and as a senior, he became a legitimate small college recruit. One school rose to the top in his recruitment however and late last week, Wolf decided that it was time to announce that he’ll be continuing his basketball playing career close to home at Linfield.
“The community that the whole school has and everyone supports each other was very welcoming, and the team was just awesome to be around,” Wolf said. “I loved all the guys on the team they were super welcoming to me through the whole process. With it being D3 the school also does a great job with scholarships outside of basketball to help get the price of schooling down.”
Wolf has made a number of visits to campus to get the know the coaching staff and players. He likes the situation that’s there with the Wildcats and is hopeful he can step right in as a freshman and earn some playing time. “(I’ll fit in) pretty well I think and with getting there and working out with all the guys will prepare me even more,” Wolf said. “My goal is to make an immediate impact how ever the team needs me to contribute.”
This past year as a senior, Wolf averaged 14 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting over 35 percent from three-point range as a big part of a Tigers team that finished 15-10 and one game shy of the state tournament after losing to rival and eventual champion Tualatin.
“On a personal level I felt like I had a good senior year I improved every aspect of my game from the year prior, and all my stats went up,” Wolf said. “As a team, we came up short of our goal but I wouldn’t have wanted to go into every game with anyone else. And overall in high school, I did what I was supposed to – I improved every year and I think it showed in my stats and gameplay.”
Our congratulations go out to Wolf and his family on his decision.
