The IHSAA State Tournament field has been dwindled down to just 64 teams. 16 teams per class will compete in Saturday's Regional round that will look and feel a little different this year than in the past. Each site will have four teams from the same class and will play two separate regional championship games. This is in contrast to what used to be the Regional semifinals in the morning following by the Regional final in the evening. Now, we will play a one game Regional followed by a two game Semi-State the following weekend. Also, pairings will be made by random draw and announced via IHSAAtv.org on Sunday, March 12th at 1 p.m. Eastern Time (the day after the regional championship games). Now, let's dive on in to previewing our two Southern Class 2A Regionals at Greenfield-Central and Southridge.

The Matchups:

1:00 PM - Park Tudor (16-8) vs. Indianapolis Scecina (17-6)

4:00 PM - Parke Heritage (18-9) vs. Northeastern (21-5)

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1578356' first='Cal' last='Bostic'] (Park Tudor 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='868228' first='Jermaine' last='Coleman'] (Park Tudor 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1297106' first='Renn' last='Harper'] (Parke Heritage 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1297034' first='Hudson' last='Horvath'] (Park Tudor 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1292539' first='Grant' last='Luebbe'] (Northeastern 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1386184' first='David' last='Mendez'] (Scecina 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1293345' first='Keaton' last='Mikesell'] (Northeastern 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='935733' first='Bryce' last='Petty'] (Park Tudor 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky'] (Parke Heritage 2026)

Game 1 Analysis: Park Tudor comes in at 16-8, but they dominated Covenant Christian and took down University in the Sectional finals. Purdue Fort Wayne commit [player_tooltip player_id='868228' first='Jermaine' last='Coleman'] is the player to watch for Park Tudor as he can be a real difference maker when he is on. [player_tooltip player_id='1578356' first='Cal' last='Bostic'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1297034' first='Hudson' last='Horvath'] also provide some nice young talent for the 2025 class. Scecina comes in at 17-6 with seven straight wins. The Crusaders dominated in Sectional with big wins over two of the favorites, Eastern Hancock and Triton Central. Defense will be the name of the game for the Crusaders to win the Regional.

Game 2 Analysis: Parke Heritage is a young squad that comes in at 18-9 on the season. They have won 10 of their last 12 games with their only losses coming by a total of six points to West Vigo and Fountain Central. They cruised through Sectional 44 with wins by 18, 25, and 10. [player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky'] is having a breakout freshman year and proving that he can be one of the top players in the 2026 class. [player_tooltip player_id='1297106' first='Renn' last='Harper'] is also a talented sophomore in the paint and can be physical with anyone. Northeastern sits at 20-5 with wins in 15 of their last 17. They picked up a big win in the opening round at Shenandoah, but they cruised through the final two rounds. The Knights have so many guys that can score the ball which makes it very difficult to stop them.

Prediction: Park Tudor over Indianapolis Scecina, Parke Heritage over Northeastern

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1556396' first='Jakob' last='Arthur'] (Brownstown Central 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1158245' first='Jack' last='Benter'] (Brownstown Central 2024), Jace Berg (Forest Park 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1296999' first='Chace' last='Coomer'] (Brownstown Central 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='1297005' first='Colby' last='Hall'] (Brownstown Central 2025), [player_tooltip player_id='868240' first='Joey' last='Hart'] (Linton-Stockton 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1547584' first='Parker' last='Hehman'] (Brownstown Central 2024), Reid Howard (Forest Park 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='1560992' first='Paul' last='Oliver'] (Linton-Stockton 2026), Bryson Partenheimer (Forest Park 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1158180' first='Braden' last='Walters'] (Linton-Stockton 2024), [player_tooltip player_id='935736' first='Logan' last='Webb'] (Linton-Stockton 2023), [player_tooltip player_id='1561048' first='Chase' last='Youngman'] (North Decatur 2026)

Game 1 Analysis: Forest Park is probably the biggest surprise team of the weekend as they came into Sectional at just 6-17. The Rangers overcame a 20-point regular season loss to take down North Posey in the Sectional finals after North Posey beat 21-1 South Spencer. The junior duo of Jace Berg and Reid Howard scores it very well with 28 points per game combined, and they will need to be exceptional to pull it off. Brownstown Central comes in at 22-4 with three of their four losses coming in a four-game span around the start of 2023. They have won 13 straight games, and although they may have gotten the benefit of a fortunate foul call to beat Providence, they are in a great spot to make a run to state. The Braves are led by Purdue commit [player_tooltip player_id='1158245' first='Jack' last='Benter'] and a plethora of role players who can really make a difference. The lone common opponent between these two squads is Loogootee who Forest Park fell to twice and Brownstown Central beat. I really don't see any way that Forest Park's magically run continues past this weekend.

Game 2 Analysis: Linton-Stockton comes in at 26-1 with their lone loss coming to Cooper in Kentucky back in early December. They absolutely cruised through their Sectional with wins by 24, 32, and 17. They have not played a game decided by single-digits since beating North Daviess by two on the road. UCF commit [player_tooltip player_id='868240' first='Joey' last='Hart'] leads the miners with [player_tooltip player_id='935736' first='Logan' last='Webb'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1158180' first='Braden' last='Walters'] hurting defenses when they put all of their pressure on Hart. North Decatur comes in at 21-5 with wins in 17 of their last 19. Their only loss in the last two months came on the road to Sectional 29 champion Greensburg by 6. The Chargers escaped a road game at South Ripley in the Sectional semis, and they dominated Milan in the finals. They are going to need a special performance if they are going to be the first Indiana team to beat Linton-Stockton this year.
