The end of the high school season is the best time to throw a fresh update on class rankings and our latest 2024 update went live on Monday. We added 40 new players to the mix, upping the total ranked prospects from 85 to 125. In this piece we take a closer look at the biggest stock risers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502779' first='Sebastian' last='Rancik'], JSerra, Previous Rank: 15, New Rank: 5

The 6-foot-9 forward jumped 10 spots in the latest ranking update and it's mainly because he had nearly a full season of healthy basketball. Rancik is one of the most versatile forwards in the class with his dribble, pass and shoot ability in addition to his feel and basketball IQ as a scorer and playmaker on the block. Rancik's best trait is his all-around feel for the game and willingness to let the game come to him by empowering teammates with the pass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502778' first='Lawrence' last='Rudolph'], St. Augustine, Previous Rank: 14, New Rank: 8

Rudolph established himself as the unencumbered top prospect in the San Diego area by leading the Saints to a 28-5 record, 10-0 league championship and a San Diego Section Open Division title. Rudolph and the Saints didn't lose to a San Diego-based opponent all season. Better known as "LoLo," the 6-foot-1 point guard controlled everything for St. Augustine, from pushing and scoring on the break to slowing the game down and executing half-court offense, Rudolph showed elite command for the point guard position. Add that into the fact that he has great speed, physicality and athleticism and you have a recipe for a Division 1 signal caller.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502781' first='Jack' last='Turner'], St. John Bosco, Previous Rank: 17, New Rank: 10

Turner has always been one of the more explosive scoring guards in SoCal and this season he emerged as a guy who could do that on the big stage, hence why he rose seven spots in the rankings. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is an elite shooter both off the catch and off the bounce from 3-point range and did a lot of damage this season with his mid-range pull-up. Turner led St. John Bosco to a Trinity League title and an appearance in the CIF Southern Section Open Division title game. Turner is verbally committed to Loyola-Chicago.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502803' first='Aaron' last='Powell'], Campbell Hall, Previous Rank: 34, New Rank: 13

Powell made it a point this season to show he can be the go-to guy and leader of a good high school team. The 6-foot-1 point guard possesses elite quickness both in transition and when blowing by defenders in the half-court setting but what makes his quickness so effective is the fact that he plays under control. Powell lives in the paint, draws defenders and is a willing set-up man for his teammates. The junior can also hit a seam and get to the rim where he can finish through contact. Powell flashed a consistent pull-up jump shot with great elevation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502797' first='Jon' last='Mani'], Beverly Hills, Previous Rank: 26, New Rank: 14

The game of basketball, especially now, is one dominated by skill and skilled guards. Mani fits both of those descriptions with size to go along with it. The wiry 6-foot-5 guard has impressive feel when creating in isolation. His hesitations and ball-handling allow him to get by defenders and to the rim or create space for a step-back or side-step jumper. Mani is a smooth operator on the perimeter and his shooting ability and basketball IQ allow him to play both on or off the ball.
