It’s to bad that possibly the most exciting shot blocker and above the rim player will not be able to get noticed during the county playoffs. Hills west had a disappointing season with high expectations. Frank did everything in his power to help them. A high flyer he is very good at catching in traffic and finishing with ferocious dunks. Has a good mid range game from the elbows which Hills West probably should have utilized more. He is more than just a dunker. Uses his athleticism and leaping ability to block shots. At the next level he will have the freedom to get to the rim more off his dribble and athletic ability on his own. Averaged 23 ppg.
My favorite Suffolk player Malachi gets it done on both ends of the floor. He uses his frame to get by defender with elusiveness and strength. Determined to score off the drive. Finishes well with either hand. Sees the floor really well has a good understanding of the game. Has good range from three. Is able to split defenders and finish with an explosive step through finish at the rim. Draws a lot of fouls off his drives. Averaged 25 ppg. If a D3 program gets him consider it a Suffolk heist if a D2 program secures him they will have an impact starter and leader for 4 years.
Brady just completed his freshman season averaging 17 ppg with 68 threes. He had 12 games with 3 or more threes. An outstanding shooter. Really good shooter off the catch. Can get into the lane as well. With more experience that will become an important piece to his game. This season they were playing him on the catch. Constant motion without the ball. Has shown a nice hesitation dribble.
Has great length uses it to defend the rim. Athletic with long arms and good leaping ability. Uses his long arms to score off the bounce. Outstanding shooter with the corner three, can also drive the ball off the baseline after a shot fake three. Added plus is he closes out really hard and wide defending the perimeter. Averaged 16ppg with 53 threes.
Highlights
Chris was the veteran on the young John Glenn squad. Averaged 13 ppg all done with constant movement with or without the ball. Elevates well on his jumper. Has good court vision. A three sport player. Brings his instincts from the other sports to the court as well as his work ethic. Usually guards the opponents best player. Top rebounder for the club.
Paul gained confidence as the season rolled along. That confidence showed in his last three games he connected on 11 threes. Has a great understanding of the game. Moves well without the ball. Finds open spots and relocates himself for the catch and shoot. Averaged 9 ppg.
An outstanding awareness of how to play the point guard position. High skill set player. Excellent court vision. A heady player. Very quick first step to get into the lane and drop it off to a teammate for an easy score or finish it himself. Strong finishes in transition. Uses his handle to drive the ball and draw fouls. Good range from beyond the arc. Averaged 12 ppg. Excellent foul shooter coach likes the ball in his hands at the end of games.
