Obviously some of these players are positionless players that can fit in multiple spots, but we did our best to categorize them based on their skillset.
Here’s a look at the shooting guards and small forwards in the new rankings.
JJ Addison JJ Addison 6'5" | SF Frederick | 2026 State MD | 6’6” SF | Bishop O’Connell
Addison is a very intriguing prospect moving forward who has great physical and athletic tools and a base skillset that will only improve with time. He’s an athletic finisher around the rim, he can put it on the deck and get to spots to make shots and defensively he has huge upside with all of his tools moving forward.
Alex Blanchard Alex Blanchard 6'0" | SG Douglas Freeman | 2026 State VA | 6’1” SG | Douglas Freeman
Blanchard is looking like one of the better young shooters in the Richmond area, as the 6’1” two guard has a great feel for the game and knows his strengths and plays to them. He moves well off the ball and is able to set his feet quickly, he has a quick release and good range already and he can attack closeouts and get to the rim too.
Jayden Brown Jayden Brown 6'3" | SG St. Anne’s Belfield | 2026 State VA | 5’11” SG | STAB
Brown is a young player on an experience STAB team so he doesn’t get the opportunities to put up big numbers, but he’s part of a talented young group that will be the future movie forward. The 5’11” guard can play on or off the ball, he makes shots from deep and in the midrange and defensively he gives good effort and moves his feet well.
Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6'0" | SG Westfield | 2026 State VA | 6’0” SG | Westfield
Brown is one of the more talented young guards you’ll come across in the NOVA area, as he’s shown a lot of promise and been very productive as just a freshman. He’s a talented shot maker who can get to spots off the bounce and hit the pull-up, he can catch and shoot it from deep on the move and he has a good frame that should fill out nicely moving forward.
Faron Friend Faron Friend 6'2" | SG Glen Allen | 2026 State VA | 6’2” SG | Glen Allen
Friend has shown a lot of potential moving forward playing a big role for a very good Glen Allen team as a freshman, and he still has a lot of room to get better moving forward. At 6’2” he has long arms and is likely still growing, he’s a good athlete who gets up and down and can finish at the rim and he can score the ball from multiple levels already.
Connor Lyons Connor Lyons 6'7" | PF St. Anne's-Belfield | 2026 State VA | 6’6” SF | STAB
Lyons is another young piece on this STAB team that is going to have a bright future, as he already has great size and can really shoot the ball from deep. At 6’6” he has long arms and can rise over defenders and make contested shots, he has good range and great form on his jumper and he is a good help side defender as well.
Kyren Ogelsby Kyren Ogelsby 6'4" | SG Virginia Academy | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SG | Handley
Ogelbsy started the season at VA Academy before transferring to Handley, and he has been one of the most productive freshmen in the state so far this year. At 6’4” he already has a strong frame and is able to finish through traffic very well, he has an excellent midrange game with the ability to hit the pull-up and work the middle of the zone and he rebounds and defends well beyond his years too.
Adam Oumiddoch Adam Oumiddoch 6'4" | SG Bishop O'Connell | 2026 VA | 6’4” SG | Bishop O’Connell
Oumiddoch has been one of the top freshmen in the WCAC this year, and already holds a handful of division one offers after his strong play in the DMV Live. At 6’4” he already has good size as a freshman and is a very talented shot maker who can score it in traffic and make contested shots, he can put it on the deck and get to the rim and he has a natural knack and feel for the game and how to be productive.
Quincy Wadley Quincy Wadley 6'5" | SF Bishop O'Connell | 2026 State VA | 6’5” SF | Bishop O’Connell
Wadley is another talented freshman for O’Connell who has had a great season so far and shows a lot of promise moving forward. The 6’5” wing has long arms and uses them to get deflections and rebound as well, he is a very talented shooter who knocks down shots from deep consistently and he can get hot quickly and take over games with his shooting ability.
