Starting as a freshman for the defending state champs speaks for itself. Bright has proven to be a productive offensive weapon, allowing the Patriots to the throw the ball down low for scoring opportunities. Has the chance to be one of the better rebounders in the state over the next 12-18 months. He averages about three boards a game in limited minutes, but pulled down a total of 17 over a four game stretch against tough competition at the Tark Classic.
Highlights
Colemans is a really good two way guard with the ability to take over a game both offensively and defensively. There’s nothing flashy about his game, but he’s effective and most importantly consistently productive. One of the better pull up and mid range shooters in the state regardless of class, Coleman is averaging nearly 20 per game for one of the top 2A programs in the city.

Gotten to watch a ton of film on the freshman, and love him a little more each time. He’s been one of the best class of 2026 players all year. At this stage of his career he’s more of a skilled four, but you could easily see him transitioning down into a wing prospect. He’s a 40-80 guy shooting 40% from behind the arc and 83% from the stripe. His shooting accuracy has allowed him to score double figures in every contest this year.
Saw Daniels a couple of weeks ago and loved the energy and potential of the freshman. A downhill guy, he has quickness and positional size that allows him to get paint touches and finish around the rim. He hit his career high 14 points twice this season.
I was tipped off about Madsen this fall, and got to watch him play some during the preseason. Our #36 ranked c/o 2026 prospect is cutting his teeth for the defending 1A champs, Green Valley Christian. Madsen is averaging nearly 6 points per game and getting stronger with each contest, evident by a career high 18 points recently against Ampulus.

Democracy Prep has one of the best overall freshmen classes in the state, and Lea speaks to the depth. A bulldawg PG, Lea thrives in the Blue Knights pressure defense scheme. One of the state’s steals leaders, Lea comes away with about two thefts per game, and had a career high 7 against Founders.
BDS has made his impact for a Fernley team that’s looking like a 3A favorite. He’s an advanced shooter that has connected on 35 trey’s this year. His scoring and nose for the ball instincts have made him one of the more versatile freshmen in the state as Stephens also averages over 4 assist and 2 steals per game.
Highlights
Williams entered the season as one of the highest ranked freshmen in our rankings, and is starting to prove why. The 6’3 guard plays hard, and with good defensive instincts. He’s also shown the ability to score the basketball, evident by putting up 35 points during a two game stretch of the season.
Borders is another freshmen weapon for the Democracy Prep crew. He’s just scratching the surface of his potential, and discovering his strenghts. The 6’3 hybrid forward has had games where he’s hit multiple threes, as well as contest where he grabbed 5 or 6 rebounds. His development may prove crucial to the Blue Knights reaching their postseason goals.

Steward is on my all must watch list. One of the top R&J athletes regardless of class, once he refines his skill set, look out. A naturally bouncy, aerodynamic jumper, he impacts games with effort and energy alone. Despite spending the majority of his time on JV, he’s been productive in spots, evident by his 12 points this week against Faith Lutheran.
Coleman is a player who’s potential I’m extremely high on. The #11 ranked player in our class of 2026 has some physical tools to go along with good perimeter skills. He’s 6’2 with the ability to create for himself off the bounce. He earns minutes for a Desert Pines program that is 14-3 overall and 5-1 in conference with their only loss being to #3 Durango by 4 in overtime. Look for his exprience to help his stockriser status as we move into the Spring and Summer.
