Take a look at Part 1 below!
Zach Fidh
Zach Fidh
In a defensive slugfest, Fidh came up huge for Saline. They needed another shot taker and bucket maker, and it was Fidh that rose to the occasion. He had 13 big points, as shots didn’t come easy in the game. Fidh was able to be creative with the ball when he needed to be and turn traffic into open looks.
This may not have been Boyd’s most explosive game, but he makes other teams adjust. The Central Michigan football commit is simply stronger and quicker than most guards we’ll see at the high school level. I was impressed by his perimeter D and his strong ball handling.
Highlights
Dacarri Gill
Dacarri Gill
Gill definitely used this game to showcase some basketball skills. He was a strong player that excelled with physicality. His physical defense ws impressive. Gill showed the ability to finish through defenders and shrug off contact at the rim . His game was impressively powerful.
Tomassi has been playing terrific basketball and his well rounded game came into play against Swartz Creek. His passing really stole the show as far as his game that night. He showed and willingness and ability to find the open teammate or the hot shooter. Tomassi was key in finding teammates with his ball movement on the perimeter and ability to pass in the open floor.
Brady Berry
Brady Berry
Berry had a really strong 2nd half and showed up in my notes a ton after halftime. He was able to get to the rim off the bounce and draw a foul. Berry showed that he could creative with his mid range jumper and bury it even when contested. If Berry plays like he did in the 2nd half, it’s a game changer for Swartz Creek.
Mesman has been solid so far for the Hornets. He was huge on the glass for Saline. East Lansing was bigger and more athletic in the paint, so Mesman had to hold down fort on the glass. He did a more than admirable job in doing so. I wouldn’t be surprised ig he grabbed over 10 rebounds, and even when he didn’t bring it down, his tip kept it alive for teammates.
