<p>On Saturday January 21, PH NorCal spent the day at Contra Costa Community College for the Crush in the Valley Showcase. It was a mixture of high school, and prep school teams. The prep schools are loaded with big time next level talent. Our focus is on the regular high school prospects from NorCal.</p>

<p>Johnson one of the hardest working defenders in NorCal, and his teammates gained valuable experience trying to slow down Duke commit [player_tooltip player_id='992480' first='Jared' last='McCain'] of Corona Centennial, one of the top players in the country. He played a good overall game, working hard on the defensive end, and leading his team in scoring for the game. He hit key buckets to keep the Pride in the game. He had three-3's, and 15pts. </p>

<p>He's developing into a quality point guard for this team. He's showing solid ball handling and good decision making when the ball is in his hands. He's a solid body who pushes hard in transition, drives it hard to the basket, he can play through contact. He finds open shooters. He's a good on ball defender. 4pts, 7asts, 2stls.</p>

<p>He's an improving prospect in this class. He's a good shooter from behind the 3-pt line with a good release. He's good on the catch and shoot 3 along the perimeter, and can hit the mid-range jumper. He's a decent ball handler, and ball mover. He uses a floater in the paint. He's an alert defender, with good weak side help, he stays in good position on the perimeter. 10pts, 3asts, 1stl.</p>

<p>Thompson is showing he can shoulder the load with his performance in this game. He shot the ball well from behind the 3pt line. His 6-3's, and 28pts carried the team to a win. He's playing at a good pace, taking good shots, and keeping teammates involved with his passing. He gives good effort on the defensive side of the ball, and will go after rebounds. Consistent shot making is a key for him.</p>

<p>He played a good all around game. He was solid on the defensive side of the ball. He was the teams leading rebounder in this game with 7. He had good strong drives to the basket that resulted in trips to the free throw line. He was good in transition filling lanes and getting to the rim. 11pts, 2asts, and a block.</p>

<p>He's a solid guard that fits into this teams concept of paying hard with good fundamentals, passing well, and moving without the ball in this fast paced offense. He sets solid screens, and will get in there and help with rebounding. He was able to get good looks from behind the 3pt line, hitting back to back threes, he had 4-3's, 3rebs, 2asts. 16pts</p>

<p><strong>Jordan Espinoza 6'3 2024 Guard from Clovis North</strong></p>

<p>Standing 6'3 he doesn't mind mixing it up inside. He's effective around the basket playing with balance and control. He's good off two feet. He can hit the paint jumper, and use a floater. He's a good court runner who can finish through contact in transition. He has a jump shot out to the 3pt line. He'll work for rebounds, and defend hard. 14pts.</p>
