There were a load of future stars competing in Perham yesterday and here are the name that stood out, as well as young talents that played.

Treyvon Benson of Pelican Rapids (5'9 Soph). Forced into big minutes this year because of the injury to [player_tooltip player_id='1284216' first='Timmy' last='Guler'], I liked what I saw from Benson and feel he has a nice future. The young man is still learning but the effort was there with eigh boards, I really liked the way he moved the basketball to create simple but open shots for teammates (5 assists) and although he struggled to finish I thought he took the right shots. I think he is going to be really good as an upperclassmen.

Aikhem Bethel of Fergus Falls (5'10 Soph). The game of Aikhem Bethel may have been the biggest eye opener of the Saturday event in Perham. Bethel's dribble separation skills are already at an elite level and there are not many players that can keep him in front when he makes that first step after his move. Bethel scored 26 points against a veteran Perham team and those scores included five threes as the Bethel touch off the move is quite fluid. There is also range to the jumper of this young star. Keep the name Aikhem Bethel in mind, he is going to be one of the better guards in his class.

Charlie Larson of Pelican Rapids (5'11 Soph). Larson's effort and positioning was crucial to helping his team. He was at the foul line six times and made all six, he rebounded well as a 5'11 forward, and knocked out a couple jumpers. Solid player that will make them deep and regularly solid on D.

[player_tooltip player_id='2103319' first='Alex' last='Lester'] of Nevis (6'6 Soph). Alex has some potential to grow with. He is a legit 6'6 and got that length on several shot attempts leading to his four blocks. Fosston had trouble scoring at the rim in the halfcourt set with Lester around. He did not get many shot attempts but we did see the touch twice.

[player_tooltip player_id='2109862' first='Devan' last='Lindow'] of Nevis (5'11 Soph). Lindow is the Nevis lead guard that opened up the majority of his team's attempts. It was a tough finishing day for Nevis but Devan created most of the attempts and had four assists. Strong ball handler with a deep controlled handle, he is going to help Nevis win a ton of games the next several years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'] of Henning (6'2 Fr). Kale is one of the cleanest freshman I have seen this year, and maybe in some time. What I mean by that is his court IQ and skills are so high quality for his age. The decisions he made were veteran like plus Kale made 10 of 11 foul shots, chased down nine boards, and had foul shots. Scoring 19 as a frosh in a huge game against the number one team in the state, it's not something I or he will soon forget. Kale is going to be a top Class A player for many years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='2445568' first='Gavin' last='Wang'] of Annandale (6'7 Soph). Wang is a strong, offensive tackle like post with some good feet, moves well at his size, and although he is just learning, the potential is there for him to be a very good player for the Cards soon. Had eight rebounds versus Hawley.

Kingsley Whitebird of Cass Lake-Bena (6'2 Soph). We have a new Panther star! Whitebird's three with four seconds to go became a monster game winner that nobody will soon forget. Whitebird grabbed seven boards, defended really well, and did a great job of passing and cutting, plus his late foul shots were crucial to the Panther win too.

Others

Tateyn Boswell of Cass Lake-Bena (6'2 soph)

Alex Ellison of Fegus Falls (6'2 soph)

[player_tooltip player_id='2103377' first='Ryan' last='Hirst'] of Fergus Falls (6'5 soph)

Micah Johnson of Fergus Falls (5'10 fr)

Levi King of Fergus Falls (6'2 soph)

Eli Lindow of Nevis (6'2 soph)

[player_tooltip player_id='1489494' first='Brennan' last='Meyer'] of Duluth East (5'9 soph)

Noah Nelson of Hawley (6'5 soph)

[player_tooltip player_id='1560767' first='Ty' last='Nyberg'] of Duluth East (5'11 fr)

Brody Syverson of Pelican Rapids (5'11 soph)
