Above Expectations: The Teams and the Player Leading Them

Dassel-Cokato (4-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='1688899' first='kasen' last='warner']. The Chargers won more games last year (9) than we expected and this year they are off to a great start winning all four of their contests so far. [player_tooltip player_id='1688899' first='kasen' last='warner'] is a junior that leads the team in scoring and his play has been a big part of DC starting strong.

Minneapolis Edison (5-1) and [player_tooltip player_id='1612342' first='Deidrick' last='Taylor']. [player_tooltip player_id='1142942' first='Micah' last='Young'] is the biggest reason that Edison is 5-1 but another really important piece to Edison earning five wins in six games is the 15 points a game and guard play from Taylor. His ability to take bodies away from Young is, and will be crucial. Taylor is a junior.

Moose Lake-Willow River (5-1) and [player_tooltip player_id='2376031' first='Adam' last='Neumann']. MLWR was not supposed to be 5-1 right now beating teams by 25 points per game. They were a senior dominated team that replaced a lot of guys but players like 5'10 junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2376031' first='Adam' last='Neumann'] have stepped up to keep this program going on a strong level.

Norwood Young America (6-1) and Braeden O'Neil. Brayden is a 6'6/6'7 dominating player around the basket averaging 31.6 points per game! O'Neil has pushed his team to taking the next step from .500 to contending for their conference title and their section title. Next up is Jordan, GSL, and LP so it will be interesting to see how NYA does against increased quality of teams.

Rush City (3-1) and Anthony Daas. Rush City was a 20 win team last year but they lost eight rotational guys to graduation. Daas has at times carried the team this year as his young teammates step into bigger roles. Daas was a key player last year and is a leading man this season so far leading the team to three wins in four games.

St. Paul Academy (4-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='1451145' first='Ethan' last='Carter']. SPA has three guys that have shown to be tough weapons for teams to stop and that is [player_tooltip player_id='1288695' first='Tysen' last='Hayes'], Mikkel Rawdon, and [player_tooltip player_id='1451145' first='Ethan' last='Carter']. Ethan is the attacking guard and the ball pressuring defender that leads the way, he is scoring 21 points a game.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa (4-1) and [player_tooltip player_id='1225638' first='Kayden' last='Rodrick']. Kayden is a 6'4 all around stat stuffer who has already had games of 30, 28, and 26 already leading the Cougars to four wins in five games and this is a team that won six games all of last season!
