The GIBT was held in Gridley CA. A small rural farming community about 50 miles from Sacramento, CA. 1953 was the first year of the 8 team tournament. The participants were Salesian College Prep, Campolindo, Archbishop Riordan, Clovis North, The Branson, Dublin, Oakland Tech, and the host Gridley. Here is the Prep Hoops NorCal First Team. It may differ slightly from the official committee selection. PH was there Friday and Saturday. The tournament started Thursday. Salesian College Prep won the title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255642' first='Emerson' last='Jones'] 6'6 2023 W/F from Salesian Prep. The bouncy unsigned Senior played two quality games. He's quick on the jump going after missed shots. He was patient in the paint gathering himself before exploding up using his length to finish, sometimes with a dunk. He averaged 9.3 ppg. His effect on the game was more than scoring. Emerson long reach, and activity in the paint caused problems for opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id='1510766' first='Aaron' last='Claytor'] 6'3 2024 PG from Salesian Prep. He's a rising prospect in the NorCal 2024 class. He has the necessary tools to efficiently run the PG position. He's at his best when the ball is in his hands, while looking to find open cutters to the basket or someone spotting up along the perimeter for good looks behind the 3pt line. He has vision, makes good decisions, and can hit the dribble drive pull-up. He's a threat to score down the stretch. He averaged 10.3 ppg.

[player_tooltip player_id='950887' first='Logan' last='Robeson'] 6'3 2023 SG from Campolindo. The time is now for Robeson. Campolindo lost in the title game to Salesian, had they won he would have been an easy MVP of the tournament. He was consistent in his scoring leading the tournament with 22.3 ppg, 67pts total. he knocked down open jumpers, repeatedly used his body, and dribble to get into the paint for points, kind of a throw back, maneuvering his way around with control, and touch around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1336142' first='Shane' last='O'Reilly'] 6'3 2023 SG from Campolindo. He can stick the open shot from long and short range. When he's coming down the court in rhythm there's a good chance his 3ptr in going down. He was second in the tournament with a total of 9 3ptrs in three games. He hits the free throw jumper regularly, his off the dribble pull-up is much improved as well as his ball handling. 16.6 ppg.

King-Jhsanni Wilhite 6'0 2023 Guard from Archbishop Riordan. Just another day on the court for one of NorCal's best ball dominant guards. He's been putting in a good effort to involve teammates. He's a much improved passer, with good vision when he's in that role, but things change as he'll go into scoring mode when he feels the timing is right. He's been productive this way for a while. He was the 3rd leading scorer here with 18.3 in three games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1254108' first='Christian' last='Wise'] 6'6 2023 Forward from Archbishop Riordan. The best is yet to come from Wise, the muscular forward with a solid body, and strength to be effective in the paint. He's not quite there yet, but he continues to impress with his play around the basket, he's dropping paint jumpers, strong power moves with lift . Hell be joining the double double club soon, he was probably the top rebounder at this event. He averaged 13.3ppg.

Loukas Jones 6'3 2025 SG from Clovis North. He was the leading 3pt shooter in this event. With any young shooter he can be streaky, he had it going in Gridley. He played a key role in Clovis North first game win over Dublin. He had 11 3ptrs for the tournament. In the 3rd place game he hit 4 3's before half-time. He averaged 15.3 ppg.

[player_tooltip player_id='1264595' first='Jase' last='Butler'] 6'4 2024 Guard from The Branson. He's a rising guard in the 2024 class. He had his much improved guard skills on display. He's become that versatile guard with the ability to facilitate in the half-court. His ball handling, passing, and vision, along with his point production makes him a big guard who has the ability to take over a game. He has flow, good movement, and body control. 17.6 ppg. He was one assist short of a triple double in one game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1384451' first='Semetri' last='Carr'] 6'0 2025 PG from The Branson. He continues his rise as a top point guard in NorCal regardless of class. He's just a natural for the position. No matter the level of competition, he'll have an impact on the game. At this event, he was actively looking to put points on the board. His 3ptrs were falling early. His mid-range off the dribble was good. He's made a conscious effort to get more rebounds from the guard position. 15.6 ppg, 5rpg.

[player_tooltip player_id='950890' first='Courtney' last='Anderson'] Jr. 6'5 2023 SG from Dublin. A Colorado commit averaged 20.3 ppg. He was the events second leading scorer this year, after threatening to break the total points record last season. He's squared up his shoulders, and body looking fit for the next level. He has the ability to rise over most at this level. He has a good looking jump shot, with lift, and range from 3. His dribble mid-range jumper is looking good. He's one of NorCal's top point producers.
