Starting with the Prep School Division on Dec 16th the event runs all the way until the Finals of the Platinum division on Dec 22nd. Best thing about the event is the fact that it has different brackets, allowing teams to compete against comparable competition. Here’s a look at evals for some 2025 and 2026 participants of the event.
Big time defender. He’s already elite on the defensive end, Richardson will sit down in a stance, or defend in the post. His athleticism, and quick twitch muscles allow him to defend larger players, getting off the floor quickly to protect the rim from his position.
Highlights
Tough scoring lefty PG, Thomas was effective driving and showed that he has the ability to score tough buckets at the rim. Willing defender, able to guard bigger, stronger PG’s. Thomas displayed all of these skills against players from the highest division of the event.
Highlights
Mid range speacialist. Coleman is a scoring PG, that can also get teammates involved. Good handle, with the speed and quickness to get paint. Look for him to impact the game on both sides of the ball.
Highlights
Stroughter is a player that is on the cusp of blowing up. Reminds me of former Las Vegas star Tavionte Jackson at this stage of his career. Efficient scorer, that can break people down in 1 v 1 situations. Good finisher, as he is able to take and intiate bumps on the way to the hole.
Tough minded defensive first guard. Jefferson is a willing defender, that gets on the floor because of his ability to guard on ball. Has transformed himself into more of a floor general, setting up and executing the offense, but still looks to take threes when open.
Highlights
Didn’t see a lot of him this week, but looks like his best attribute is his defensive versatility, Moves well enough to guard on the perimeter and has the size and frame to battle down low against bigs.
Plays the game like a skilled running back. I was impressed with the fact that at his size, he is nimble enough to stop on a dime or avoid charges. He’s a willing facilitator, capable of scoring the ball in the paint off dribble drives.
Highlights
This was my first time seeing Dugan, as he filled in in a pinch. While not able to get a complete eval, I have him as a glue guy, that can help the Lions on the interior on both ends of the floor.
Catch and shoot speacialist. The next evolution of Wilkins game will be his ability to create for himself in 1 v 1 situation. Has the athleticism and length to potentialy be a very good wing defender.
Highlights
Speed and quickness. Jackson has a lot of checked boxes in his skill set. Scored the basketball despite facing double and triple teams throughout the tournament.
Left hander with terrific finishing ability. Gets by the first defender quickly, and showed crafty ability to finish over and under bigger players once arriving in the paint.
Andersen is productive player, who is effective with what he does best. He can score down low off putbacks or direct post, and showed nice looking stroke, when knocking down mid range jump shots.
