It is that time of year where you can fit a bunch of Indiana High School Basketball into a short window of time. For us at Prep Hoops Indiana it is truly the best time of the year. I plan on being at 18 games over the next four days starting with some action near my hometown on Tuesday. The 16th annual Bob Wettig Memorial Tournament tipped off in Richmond and Northeastern hosted day one of their holiday tournament as well. Here are some of my takeaways from the six games I covered in Wayne County on Tuesday.

Tuesday's action started off bring and early at 9:00 a.m. at the beautiful Tiernan Center. Seton Catholic used an impressive 15-0 run to start the 4th quarter to run away with 63-49 victory over Greensburg. That certainly qualifies as a quality win for the Cardinals. Their 2-3 zone defense really packed it in and seemed to take the opposing Pirates out of what they wanted to do offensively. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1275899' first='Braiden' last='Hogg'] looked like the best player on the floor scoring 16 points while 6'7" junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1578439' first='Mason' last='Harvey'] scored all 13 of his points in the second half. [player_tooltip player_id='1158211' first='Addison' last='Barnes-Pettit'] led Greensburg with 13 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.

In what was billed as the game of the day at the Wettig, Bloomington South took down Class 2A #6 Eastern Hancock 67-55. [player_tooltip player_id='1393268' first='Jacob' last='Spaulding'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1393269' first='Silas' last='Spaulding'] kept the Royals in the game throughout the first half as they trailed by just one point, 30-29, at the break. However, a couple of three-pointers by 6'8" senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1295381' first='Gavin' last='Wisley'] got the Panthers going in the third period and they never looked back. Wisley led the way with 14 points while fellow senior big man [player_tooltip player_id='1556508' first='Rhett' last='Johnson'] added 12 points and 9 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id='1236653' first='Aiden' last='Schmitz'] finished with 11 points to round out the Bloomington South players in double-figures. For Eastern Hancock, [player_tooltip player_id='1393269' first='Silas' last='Spaulding'] scored a game-high 20 points while his twin brother Jacob finished with 18 points.

Unfortunately, freshman phenom [player_tooltip player_id='1560945' first='Dezhon' last='Hall'] did not suit up in Tindley's afternoon matchup with Indianapolis Homeschool. The Tigers were still able to dominate triggering the running clock in the fourth quarter on their way to a 70-36 win. Tindley, ranked #5 in Class 1A, was led by Trey Marcelin with 16 points in the game. [player_tooltip player_id='1252307' first='Arlondo' last='Hall'] finished with 15 points while Jordon Turner added 13 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2079504' first='Deon' last='Richmond'] chipped in a double-double finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ty Suess led the way for Indianapolis Homeschool scoring 13 points in the loss.

The best individual performance of the day certainly went to 6'2" senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1160718' first='Luke' last='Saylor']. He poured in 34 points as Heritage took down Rushville 48-41 in the fourth game of the day at the Bob Wettig Memorial Tournament. Saylor is very smooth with the ball in his hands, does not get sped up, and is a crafty finisher at the end of his drives. He also contacted on four three-pointers and pulled down 7 rebounds. Kameron Morton led Rushville in scoring with 13 points.

In the evening I made the move over to Northeastern High School for the semifinals of the East Central Indiana Holiday Tournament. In the first matchup, New Castle took down Lapel 54-34. Senior guard Ethan Hinton scored 17 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to lead the Trojans. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1578367' first='Colin' last='Taylor'] added 11 points to help New Castle advance to Wednesday night's championship game. Sophomore wing [player_tooltip player_id='1534945' first='Bode' last='Judge'] finished with 10 points for Lapel.

In the nightcap, host Northeastern pulled out a hard-fought 44-40 win against Delta. After trailing 38-33 with just over two minutes remaining, the Knights went on a 6-0 run and did not look back. 6'2" senior forward Caleb Harmon led with 17 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1293345' first='Keaton' last='Mikesell'] added 10 points for Northeastern. [player_tooltip player_id='1292539' first='Grant' last='Luebbe'] hit a pair of three-pointers, made some big defensive plays down the stretch, and finished with 8 points. As for Delta, junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1295310' first='D'Amare' last='Hood'] was impressive scoring 9 of his team-leading 17 points in the final period. The 6'4" athlete also grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and collected 5 steals. [player_tooltip player_id='1295334' first='Jackson' last='Wors'] added 10 points in the loss for the Eagles.
